Today Is The Day To Share

Back in the Midwest, I lived next to a neighbor for five years without ever saying anything about Jesus.  Regardless of what people tell you, it does not get easier sharing the Gospel with someone the longer you know them — it gets harder! Well, our neighbors had been going through a very tough time. I acknowledged what was going on and said, "You know, Jesus can help. He's the most important person in my life and He’s helped me so much." I'll never forget the look. My neighbor said, "You're a liar. I know every important thing about your life. And now you're telling me that Jesus is the most important person to you and you've not mentioned Him? I don't believe you." After I picked myself off the ground, I had to acknowledge that he was right. I started by apologizing. Once he accepted that, I was able to tell him about Jesus, and he gave his life to Christ. The Hour Is Near

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In Romans 13:11, Paul tells us, “Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.” Well, what does it mean when he says, “do this?” In order to know that, we have to go back a few verses to where Paul exhorts the Christians in the church to love one another and to love their neighbors. He calls them to faithfulness and serving fellow believers and their communities. Well truly, we find ourselves in days where commitment to God at that level may cost us something. But I want to encourage you today—it is worth it. When you choose to love others by sharing the Gospel with them, you see lives changed to God’s glory. Today is the Day of Salvation

Seasoned parents and grandparents often tell new ones, "Don't blink and enjoy every moment with the kids. Because before you know it, they’re going to be grown up and time will have passed." And I would say the same to you in regards to sharing your faith. Today is the day to tell another person about Jesus! If we wait, we’ll miss the opportunity to follow Jesus' last command. He told us in John 4 that the harvest is now. There are people all around the world waiting for someone to share the Good News of the Gospel with them. The Bible says very clearly, “Today is the day of salvation!” And I don’t know about you; but when I face my Savior and Lord one day, I want to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. The Time of God’s Favor

Paul quotes in second Corinthians 6:2 these words from Isaiah, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Paul continues by saying, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” And I would say the same to you today! We do not know what time we have. We are not promised tomorrow. So today is the day to share the best news another person can hear—and that is salvation through Jesus Christ. If you think about your own life, there was a day, an hour, a second that you may have made that decision yourself, and Jesus became your Savior and Lord. Today could be that day for another. The Holy Spirit will be faithful to changes hearts who invite Him in. We get the privilege to be part of the process by sharing the Gospel. Share Hope Today

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Is it the end of time? Well, I don’t know! Only Jesus knows when that day is. But based on what we are seeing these days and what the Word of God says, I think it’s likely that we’re living in the end times. And if we are, you know, there’s a lot of people who are sadly not headed toward Heaven. And I don’t know about you, but I’m not ok with that! I (and I hope you too!) would say the same as Spurgeon...that if someone is going to hell, it would not be because they were unwarned or unprayed for. And it would not be without “our arms wrapped around their legs, begging them not to go.” We cannot keep the hope of the Gospel to ourselves! There is an urgency to share today. If our time is limited, let our goal be to pray for every person in our community by name and then share the Gospel with each and every one of them. Looking For Hope

How important is it for you to have hope in your life? In a study we did with Lifeway Research, we found that eighty-eight percent of people said that it was either important or very important to have hope in their life! Eighty-eight percent! But even without these numbers, we know how vital hope is. Take Michelle for instance, who shared her testimony on what’s my story dot org. She wrote, “Trusting in myself brought me nothing but anxiety, depression and a sense of doom. Trusting in what Jesus has done for me has brought me peace, hope, and a future that I feel joyful about. I pray that others will receive the gift of eternal life and join me and millions of others that are now in the family of God.” That’s our heartbeat at Evangelism Explosion. What Is True Hope

You know, at times I think we misunderstand hope. Some think it is merely optimism — choosing to see how circumstances could work for the best. But Biblical hope isn’t based off of the circumstances that we find ourselves in. Many people of faith in the Old Testament faced difficult times, not knowing if things could ever get better. But they chose to place their hope in God anyway. Even the prophets lamented of the injustice and evil that they saw in the world; and yet, they still looked to God for hope. And it was not misplaced. From the very beginning when humankind fell to sin, God had a plan. It was through Jesus. His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead brings an eternal hope of Heaven to all who would put their trust in Him alone. The Urgency of Hope

In the days we find ourselves in, there has never been a more vital time for hope. Everywhere we look, we see evil and sin permeating the culture. We see others go through hard situations and we even deal with those ourselves. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention shares that the 11th leading cause of death in our country is suicide. In 2021, there were an estimated 1.7 million attempts. Now, we can look at these numbers and feel hopeless. But today I have Good News, and that’s that God offers real hope. He does so through the nail-scarred hands of Jesus. When we put our trust firmly and only in Him, Jesus breathes hope into our dead hearts and makes us new creations in Him. New Years 2024

Happy New Year! Do you realize that God has already made amazing plans for you in 2024? Now, you may be running around, living life day to day — juggling a thousand tasks. Your daily life may seem busy and unorganized; you may not seem like you have a plan for tomorrow, much less the new year; but in reality, God has a very good plan for your life. In fact, the Lord says He has plans for you to prosper and to give you hope and a future! And that hope that He gives can propel us into prioritizing meaningful things, like putting our trust in Him for the harder times and sharing our faith with others. God has a purpose for each and every person; and we, as believers, should share that truth with everyone we that meet. God’s Guidance

“Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah, Pilgrim through a barren land.” The late Dr. D. James Kennedy would say these very words every morning before his feet hit the ground. In this season where we're making resolutions and goals for the next year, we need to ask ourselves...are we relying on the guidance of God? There are many snares, temptations, and difficulties out there. We desperately need Him and His direction! The Bible says in Proverbs, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." God keeps His promises! All He asks from us is that we trust Him. So before you write down your newest resolution, let me encourage you—pray for God's leading in your life. He will begin to give you opportunities to serve and love Him like never before—and through those, you can have opportunities to trust Him and share the Gospel with others.
