Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Revelation 12:11 says that we will defeat the enemy by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” That kind of power shouldn't be hidden—your story should be shared boldly! Jesus will use it as you tell of His goodness and love to those around you. This is exactly what’s happening in Sharon's life. Before she had a relationship with Jesus, her existence was dark. She always felt isolated and alone. Sharon looked to friendships to find fulfillment, but nothing ever stuck as she never made any new, long-lasting relationships. But then, she received the free gift of eternal life, and now she knows she is never alone! Sharon feels the peace and love that comes from Jesus living in her heart, and she has found a genuine and lasting community in her church. And she just can't keep it to herself! Her friends have heard it because she shared it with them. Find out how you can do the same at www.sharelife.today.

Two Changed Lives

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
“What impact could I possibly make?” Have you ever felt that way before? Well, Isabella certainly did. But she stepped outside her comfort zone and attended an evangelism discipleship training in Arizona. She went out into the community with a team and spoke to a man named Chris. They asked him two great questions: if he knew for sure he’d go to Heaven one day, and if he stood before God and God asked why He should let Chris into Heaven, what would he say? Well, Chris's answer was like so many others - he was trusting in his own good works to get him into Heaven, and he hoped it would be enough. Isabella was able to share that our works will never be enough, but placing our faith in Jesus alone to save us is all we need. I’m happy to tell you that Chris put his faith in Jesus that day! And it didn’t only change his life, it changed Isabella’s as well. Get started in sharing your faith by visiting our website at www.sharelife.today.

Sometimes, it can be a struggle to leave the past in the past. Annie knows this well. Her siblings were in and out of prison, and her dad was an alcoholic. While two of her brothers were in two separate prisons, they both met Jesus, wrote home to their mother sharing their faith in Christ! And this led Annie to also place her faith in Jesus alone. However, the next twenty years were filled with sin and struggle. But God didn’t let her stay there! Her sister gently led her to a closer walk with the Lord; and from then on, God turned her separation into reconciliation, heartbreak to hope, and brokenness to wholeness! Annie says that it’s true – God really does want to work everything out for the good of those who love Him. Lamentations 3 tells us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they’re new every morning…” So don’t lose hope! Walk in Newness

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
“Now that Jesus came into my life, he took away the emptiness I once felt within my heart.” Maybe your story sounds similar to that of Jonathan's. He says that his life has never been the same since he met Jesus. When you place your faith in Jesus, everything changes. You're no longer known by your sin and past mistakes; but rather, you're walking in the newness of life that only Christ can give. Sometimes we forget that though. No matter what your past was before meeting Jesus, you can live a new life! He is right beside you every day giving you the chance to walk with Him. Romans 6:4 gives us this encouragement: “Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” So, I encourage you to tell someone about your new life and let them know that Jesus offers it to them as well! Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Brandon was not your typical church kid and certainly not one to spread the Gospel. From the age of fifteen, until he was twenty, Brandon was a thief. He was finally convicted of armed robbery at 20 years old and remained in prison for 15 years. But guess what?! He met Jesus in prison and was made completely new! Now a pastor who disciples his congregation to share their faith, he’s made it his mission to spread the Gospel. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” If you know Jesus, people will see your faith and expect to see a difference between your former self and your new life in Christ. Be encouraged by Brandon’s story, that no matter what your past contains, Jesus has the final say and can redeem any story! Sharing With Confidence

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Did you know that God uses ordinary people like you and me to point others to Christ? Opportunities to share our faith are literally all around us. With a few simple tools, we can speak the Gospel with confidence and develop passion for those who do not yet know Him. One of the keys to sharing your faith with confidence is simply to being yourself. Keep the conversation friendly. Ask questions about their spiritual life and what gives them the most meaning. Take time to listen and understand where they are struggling. And share your story about how you came to know Jesus and what difference it’s made it your life. People love stories, and your story is interesting because it is unique. This will also help them understand the transforming power of the Gospel in your life and how a relationship with Jesus can impact them too. All these ways help us share our faith boldly and lovingly with others. To learn more about sharing the Gospel with confidence, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Giving What We’re Given

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Bible teaches us that everything we possess has come to us because God gave it to us. First Corinthians 4:7 says, “What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” Our responsibility with our possessions is to use them as God’s stewards — using them, that is, as He would Himself. In Acts 2, we see a picture of the early church selling their property and possessions to make sure that any need was met. They had open hands and hearts with all that they owned. This is an expression of Christian fellowship in the church: sharing what we possess. And as we do, we receive opportunities to point others to the One who gave us everything in the first place—our Savior, Jesus Christ. What are some ways you can give what God has given you? In Spirit and Truth
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
When it comes to worshipping God, our heart matters. Our worship in a community of believers will only be as beneficial as our attitudes are sincere. Scripture gives us numerous "attitude checkpoints" by which we can examine our hearts to make certain that we are ready for worship. John wrote in John four that "a time [...]has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." And if the Spirit is in us, He will convict us and grow us as we worship God through Him. Our humble cry should be, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Our humble, joyful, attentive attitudes in worship matter to God. So as we meet together with our church this weekend, let's come with the right attitude and worship our amazing Lord in Spirit and truth. Pray the Word

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Jesus was hungry. He had been in the wilderness for forty days without eating a single thing. At the height of His physical weakness, the enemy crept close to Him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” That was the first of three temptations Jesus fought against that day. But He answered confidently with the Scripture, "It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.'" Jesus was victorious by knowing the Word of God and hiding it in His heart. So let me encourage you today—make a habit in your life to memorize Scripture and then pray them. The Bible is living and breathing and active in our lives. And it doesn't just change our lives, it can be used to change the lives of those around us! Hide God's Word in your heart. God Speaks

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Bible is the most widely distributed book—and also the least read. There are millions of professing believers who have not yet discovered the joy and spiritual benefits of digging deeply into the Word of God. It is an inexhaustible treasure trove of wisdom. From the opening chapters of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation, the God of the Bible is the God who speaks. And He uses His Word as a primary means to do so in our lives. So, if we are not seeking to hear God's voice through reading the Bible, we are missing out on some major growth in our Christian walk. Today is the day to begin growing in this area! Let's open God's Word and listen to what He has to say. And as we grow, let's always be mindful to share with others what God is doing in our lives. This can open the door to spiritual conversations where we can share the Good News of the Gospel. For more resources, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.
