Find opportunities to reach out into your community. If you are not confident in how to share your faith, learn more on how you can be ready and confident to share. Be praying and looking for opportunities to tell others about what Jesus has done in your life. And then share His love for them! A Fresh Start

Around this time of year, we have been drawing closer to Jesus through celebrating Him coming to earth as an infant, living a perfect life, and dying on the cross for our sins. You have made a great decision! Now you can get to know Jesus as your Best Friend. He told us in John ten ten (10:10), “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." God wants your life to be fulfilling and rewarding. He's promised to help you! But where can you start? Well, just as your body needs food, your spirit needs nourishment. The Christ After Christmas

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” These words from Jesus in John fourteen six (14:6) share with us an important lesson as we move on past Christmas Day. Jesus is still the Christ even after Christmas. He offers a fulfilling and everlasting life to all who would put their trust in Him. That impacts every day of the year and every year of our lives until one day we go to be with Him in Heaven. And as we grow in our relationship with Jesus, He makes us “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” The gift of growing in our relationship with Jesus truly makes us have a wonderful and fulfilling life in every season. Make Room for Jesus

“Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown when Thou camest to earth for me; but in Bethlehem’s home was there found no room for Thy holy nativity.” This beautiful hymn written by Emily Elliott reminds us of what happened that first Christmas morn. The Messiah was born in Bethlehem—just like the Scriptures promised—and yet almost everyone missed it. No one gave up their bed so that pregnant Mary could give birth to the Savior of the world inside a comfortable room. No one else besides Mary, Joseph, and the stable animals were there. Bethlehem was sleeping while the Messiah was born into the world. Can that be said of us as well? Are we asleep to the fact that there’s a Savior who loves us and has come for us? Are we making room in our hearts for Him to be our Savior and Lord? Let our prayer this Christmas be, “Come be Lord of my heart, O Christ—there is room for you.” For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

Simeon and Anna

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Today, I want to talk about a part of the Christmas story that is seldom talked about. In Luke chapter two, we read that Mary and Joseph took baby Jesus to present him in the temple. There was a man there called Simeon who had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Savior of Israel before his death. When Simeon took Jesus into his arms, he immediately knew that this was the promised Christ and proclaimed, "for my eyes have seen Your salvation!" At that moment, a woman prophetess named Anna came up and began to thank God. Afterward, she continued to speak about Him to all those who had been looking for the Messiah. This Christmas season, let's follow Simeon and Anna's example by first thanking God for our salvation; and then let's continue to share with those around us so that they too may receive eternal life. Jesus, Our Emmanuel

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
“Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign; A virgin will conceive, and give birth to a Son, and will call Him Emmanuel, which means God with us." This prophecy from Isaiah 7 came hundreds of years before Jesus stepped foot on earth. God promised that He Himself would come to be with us. And the truth is, if Jesus never had come, we would still be dead in our sins. We would have no way to come before an all-holy God and expect to get into heaven. The Bible says clearly, "For the wages of sin is death..." But praise be to God, He had a plan. He loved us so much that He humbled Himself, took on flesh, and dwelt among us. Emmanuel. Who lived the perfect life that we couldn't, took our sins upon Himself, and died with them on the cross. Now, He offers the free gift of eternal life to anyone who puts their trust in Him. Precious Treasures From Afar

Some of the most interesting characters in the Christmas story didn't even show up right when Christ was born. The Magi are known for journeying to Jesus after seeing the star announcing His birth. In Numbers 24, there is a prophecy that "a star would come out of Jacob"—and this was speaking about both a literal star as well as pointing toward the Messiah, Jesus, who was a descendant of Jacob. The Magi waited and watched the sky for generations. And the minute they beheld the star, they gathered up precious treasures; and they traveled about two years to find the Messiah they had been waiting for. What talents and gifts has God given you? How can you use them to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel? God hasn't given us a star to communicate the Savior now—He's given His children the Holy Spirit and has commissioned us to tell others about eternal life in Him. The Angels’ Song

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
“Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing over the plain. And the mountains in reply, echoing their joyous strains." Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but picture what it was like when it happened all those years ago at Jesus' birth. I live in North Carolina, and we’re surrounded by mountains. When you see how majestic and grand they are, it's hard to imagine a song so loud and sung by so many beings that it literally echoes from the mountains—probably surpassing our loudest concerts and football games. It makes sense why the shepherds literally shook in fear when they saw this scene and heard, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace - good will toward men." This worship followed the pronouncement of the Savior's birth. They wanted the world to know the Savior was born. So let's follow the angels' example and not hold back in sharing the Good News of salvation through Jesus! Learn how at www.sharelife.today.

Mary’s Faith

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your words to me be fulfilled.” In the first chapter of Luke, we read the story of Mary who was told by the angel Gabriel that she would conceive and give birth to a son named Jesus—even though she was a virgin. I can’t even imagine what the teenage Mary must have felt or thought about this. When Gabriel first appeared to her, the Bible recounts that she was greatly troubled. But after hearing what the angel said, Mary very humbly—and in great faith!—replies that she is willing to serve God and trust His plan wholeheartedly. Let’s learn from Mary that we too can walk in faith despite our circumstances. Because when we step out to do the hard things for God, like sharing our faith, God's perfect plan is furthered. Don’t Keep Silent

"...When the shepherds had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them." At just the right time, Jesus came to this earth, humbly and quietly as a child. All of Heaven had been anticipating this moment and like wildfire, the news spread across the country because the shepherds told everyone who would listen about the child. Everyone who heard the news was amazed! Have you ever thought, though, “What if the shepherds had kept quiet?” Well, our world would certainly look different. If they had kept the news of the Messiah coming to earth to themselves, they would have missed out on so much. Now here’s the question for you and me…what if we remain silent?
