Today is the Day of Salvation

Seasoned parents and grandparents often tell new ones, "Don't blink and enjoy every moment with the kids. Because before you know it, they’re going to be grown up and time will have passed." And I would say the same to you in regards to sharing your faith. Today is the day to tell another person about Jesus! If we wait, we’ll miss the opportunity to follow Jesus' last command. He told us in John 4 that the harvest is now. There are people all around the world waiting for someone to share the Good News of the Gospel with them. The Bible says very clearly, “Today is the day of salvation!” And I don’t know about you; but when I face my Savior and Lord one day, I want to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Divine Appointments

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Holy Spirit is softening and drawing hearts to Himself each and every day. And we can be a part of His work. One of the very best ways to join the Holy Spirit is by praying for what we like to call “Divine Appointments.” I can’t tell you how many times He has led me a person who was waiting for someone to share the Gospel with them. In Arizona, I met a twenty-one-year-old named Raymond who was waiting at a bus stop. He told me that he was in a recovery program that talked about God but hadn’t shared much about Him. Raymond was sitting there wondering how he could find out more when we walked up. With tears in his eyes, he accepted Christ after hearing the Gospel and said, “Thank you! Fulfilling the Great Commission

Did you know that there are Christians all around the world that have been working tirelessly to fulfill Jesus’ last command? He gave us the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” And there are many that have taken this very seriously. In fact, there are leaders that are saying the Gospel will be finished going forth and the Great Commission will be fulfilled as early as 2033. A few are saying it could be even earlier than that! And if this is true, the question we must ask ourselves is what role will we play? Let me encourage you: don’t wait to start sharing your faith. Give Us Your Eyes

Do you want to really be stretched in your faith? Ask God to give you His eyes for other people. And He’ll answer that prayer and begin to break your heart for what breaks His. And there is nothing dearer to Christ's heart than people. He created each of us uniquely and for a purpose! Once you start looking, you’ll begin to see this for yourself and value others highly. You'll desire for them to have the peace, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ; and then you'll make the effort to start spiritual conversations and look for opportunities to share the Gospel with them. So take the challenge this week! Think of each person you pass by as a neighbor. If you make a conscious effort to really see people as they pass by, you will begin to really care and you will want to witness more! Not sure where to start? We would love to help. Know the Season

How does a farmer know to harvest? Well, it boils down to a farmer looking at their field and seeing that the crop is ripe! You know, the Bible uses the very same analogy for a spiritual harvest of souls ready to accept the free gift of eternal life. Jesus told the disciples, “I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” It would be detrimental to a farm if the workers missed out on collecting the crop. There may be bankruptcy or even people who starve from it. But for the us, it would be even more harmful. Not to God—because He can make the rocks cry out His glory. But how unfortunate it would be for us to miss out on the blessing of being a part of the harvest. We have the purpose and the privilege to be Jesus’ hands and feet here on earth, and that includes bringing the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Tell the World

The word "Gospel" translated from the original Greek literally means "good message" or "good news!" Well what has to happen in order to share good news? Well, we have to actually impart it to others. You see, many Christians believe that they can share the Gospel merely through their actions. They do their best to live out what they believe. And that's wonderful! We absolutely should walk out our faith. We don't want to be a hypocrite that looks no different than the world. The Gospel’s changed us, Jesus has saved us, and we should live it out! But we can't stop there. The message will be unclear—un-understood—if we don't take the time to tell others about it. First Peter 2:9 tells us, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." The Gospel is the Answer

How we think about the Gospel impacts firsthand if we share it or not. Do we really view it as Good News? What does the Gospel mean to us? Well, when Jesus came back to Nazareth during His ministry, he visited the synagogue, where He read from the scroll of Isaiah. And Jesus then fulfilled the very prophecy he read: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.” When we acknowledge that the Gospel is the way to heal our land, bring freedom to captives, and give a treasure of matchless worth to the poor, our actions change quite dramatically. So then let’s bring this Good News to the poor, sick, and hurting world around us. The Gospel is the answer. And it is Good News for all who hear it! The Gospel is Good News

Years ago, my neighbor's wife asked him for a divorce. I saw how much he was hurting. So one night, I told him, “Bill, I put my trust in Jesus, and it completely changed my life. It's the most important decision I've ever made. And Jesus can do impossible things—even heal broken marriages.” Bill looked at me and said, “Either you’re a liar, or you hate me.” Well, I was really taken back. He said, “You know, you’ve lived next to me for 5 years and never said anything about Jesus. If this really changed your life and can change mine, well then why haven’t you told me?” I begged him for forgiveness—and then I shared with him about Jesus. Bill put his trust in Christ and it changed his life too. Let’s not to buy into the lie that no one wants to hear the Good News. The Gospel is powerful and essential. Don’t Believe the Lie

John Piper said, "The Gospel is the Good News that the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of the never-boring, ever-satisfying Christ is ours freely and eternally by faith in the sin-forgiving death and hope-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ." So why is it that nowadays there are many churches who act like this Good News isn’t that important to share? Well, many Christians have bought into the lie from the enemy that sharing will lead to angry confrontation. So we then neglect to share the very Good News that has changed our lives. We convince ourselves that no one wants to hear it. Well, let me encourage you with this today: I’ve shared the Gospel worldwide to people of all different backgrounds, cultures, and ages. And very rarely have I had anyone react with anger. More often than not, the person I share with thanks me for taking the time to share. So let's step out and learn to share at www.sharelife.today.

Forgotten Good News

Do you ever have times when you walk out the door, and you realized you’ve forgotten your keys? Or have you gone on vacation only to realize after you've left that you forgot your toothbrush? Now, these are somewhat silly things to forget. But in the Bible, there were often times when prophets, apostles, and disciples had to remind the people of what God said in His Word because humans can be...well...forgetful! Our attention gets taken by so many things, and we forget the important truths that we have already been told. And the truth is that the church has internationally forgotten something important: We have forgotten that the Gospel is, in fact, GOOD NEWS! It's the love of God shown through what Jesus did on the cross for our sins. And the whole Bible shares of the Father’s deep love for humanity as well as His desire that all would hear the Gospel.
