Jesus was hungry. He had been in the wilderness for forty days without eating a single thing. At the height of His physical weakness, the enemy crept close to Him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” That was the first of three temptations Jesus fought against that day. But He answered confidently with the Scripture, "It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.'" Jesus was victorious by knowing the Word of God and hiding it in His heart. So let me encourage you today—make a habit in your life to memorize Scripture and then pray them. The Bible is living and breathing and active in our lives. And it doesn't just change our lives, it can be used to change the lives of those around us! Hide God's Word in your heart. Pray for Peace in Jerusalem

The Bible in Psalm 122 instructs us to pray for peace—and specifically...it says "pray for the peace of Jerusalem." Now, it's possible you could be finding that hard at the moment. In fact, it might seem like true world peace is unattainable. But Jesus is our peace, and that is the peace the world needs right now. Now, you might think I must be naive to say this, because so many people talk about or even promise world peace and it never happens. But I’m here to tell you that true peace is attainable through Jesus, the Prince of peace; and that is the only peace that is everlasting. Jesus told His disciples in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Hope in Times of Trouble

What we’re seeing in the news today—the horror of what’s happening is Israel—if we’re honest with ourselves…can bring turmoil to our hearts. Sometimes it can feel like all hope is lost. When times seem bleak, there is a place that we can find hope that passes all understanding. It’s through faith in Jesus and Him alone. In the words of the famous C.S. Lewis, "Faith is the art of holding on to things in spite of your changing moods and circumstances." Our hope should be placed in Jesus now more than ever. And that hope that we have is the hope that the world needs. Nothing else can satisfy our thirsty and hurting hearts. The Good News of the Gospel, of what Jesus has done for us on the cross, changes a human life from the inside out. So let me encourage you today: share the hope of the Gospel with those around you. Two Question Marks

How do you start a conversation about Jesus? Sometimes, all it takes is having something to connect over. When Jesus was at the well in Samaria, he started a conversation on spiritual things with the Samaritan woman by using the water in the well! They began talking about physical water through Jesus asking for a drink. By the end of the conversation, Jesus told her that He was the Living Water. The connecting point for believers in Burundi, Africa in twenty twenty began with putting two question marks on their masks. When people asked them what they meant, they jumped headfirst into a Gospel conversation with..."these are the two most important questions we have every been asked! Would it be ok if we shared them with you? If you died tonight, do you know for sure you would go to heaven? And if God asked you, why should I let you into my heaven, what would you say?" Church Icebreaker

Can you think of a time when you put your foot in your mouth? I mean, everyone can recall a moment they wanted to blend in with the wall behind them because of something they said. We're all human—it happens! But we don't want that to happen when we share the Gospel. So today, I'd like to share an icebreaker that may be the easiest way to start a spiritual conversation! So one of the easiest ways to start is by bringing up something you've done recently at church. Sharing with somebody how much you love your church and asking them whether or not they go to church is really simple. And it’s an easy follow-up then to say, "Church is important to me because that's where I learned about how I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Can I tell you about how that’s changed my life?" Now, you’re going be surprised by how many times you will hear "yes!" People genuinely want to know what’s important to us. Death, Where Is Your Sting?

One of the hardest things that we can ever face in life is a close encounter with death. Whether it is ourself or the loss of a loved one, these are life-changing and difficult times. But God can use these very moments to draw us or others to Himself. This is exactly what happened in Barry's life. In college, he met a girl that he admired very much and always wished to meet. Well one day, she was killed in a car accident. Barry was crushed and went to the school's chapel to pray. In that moment, he knew there was something missing in his life but didn't know what it was. Then soon after, he heard the good news of the Gospel, and he put His trust in Christ. Now, he knows for certain that he has eternal life. And that’s changed everything. Sharing a testimony like this is a great way start a Gospel conversation with family and friends about the eternal hope found in Jesus. On a Scale from 1 to 10

Let me ask you a question...on a scale from one to ten, how fulfilling would you say your life is? What makes it that number? And would having more of a relationship with God make that number go up or down? These are some really impactful questions we can use when talking with our family and friends about God. They’re opportunities for them to share about their lives and their thoughts on having a relationship with Christ. I have to tell you...I've asked these questions a lot. And most of the time, people share with me that they think having more of a relationship with God would actually make their life more fulfilled. And I get to tell them that Jesus Himself said that in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." The evidence is in my very own life! That certainly happened to me. Well, one of the best ways to begin is by telling our friends how having a relationship with Christ has changed you for the better. We call these “God stories.” And the more we walk with Christ, the more we have these we have to share! Start by telling them something you have seen God do in your life, like a change He's brought about, an answered prayer, or even a restored relationship. End your God story with a statement of confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. And this will open the door to sharing more! Today is the Day of Salvation

Seasoned parents and grandparents often tell new ones, "Don't blink and enjoy every moment with the kids. Because before you know it, they’re going to be grown up and time will have passed." And I would say the same to you in regards to sharing your faith. Today is the day to tell another person about Jesus! If we wait, we’ll miss the opportunity to follow Jesus' last command. He told us in John 4 that the harvest is now. There are people all around the world waiting for someone to share the Good News of the Gospel with them. The Bible says very clearly, “Today is the day of salvation!” And I don’t know about you; but when I face my Savior and Lord one day, I want to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.
