Gospel Outline Week – Christ

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Today, we are going to learn an easy to remember Gospel presentation. Our pattern to share the Gospel is based on five main words – Grace, Man, God, Christ, and Faith; and we are pairing each one with a finger of our hand as a learning aid. Today, we’ll focus on the fourth word - picture your ring finger and think of the Bridegroom because today’s word is CHRIST. Jesus Christ is both God and Man. John’s Gospel opens with this emphasis, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” While Jesus had many great accomplishments, there’s no doubt about His most important: He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin…and rose from the dead to prove He has purchased a place in Heaven for us. Gospel Outline Week – God

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This week we’re learning an easy to remember Gospel presentation. And we’re using the five fingers of our hand as a learning aid. Today we’ll focus on Word #3: GOD. And picture your middle finger – the longest, greatest finger representing the greatest being in all the universe which we know to be God.  Of the many aspects of God’s character, we’ll emphasize two:  First, God is MERCIFUL and doesn’t want to punish us. The Bible tells us that “God is love.” But the same Bible that teaches us that He is love, also teach us that He is JUST and He cannot tolerate our sin. In Exodus 34:7, God says, 'by no means will I clear the guilty.' This presents a problem. Notice that I did not say God has a problem. The problem is ours. For God’s solution to our problem, we’ll turn our attention tomorrow to Word #4: CHRIST. God solved our problem through Jesus Christ! Gospel Outline Week – Man

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This week we’re learning an easy to remember Gospel presentation. We’re using the five fingers of our hand to remember five Gospel words – one each day. Yesterday was GRACE – and we used our thumb pointing toward Heaven to remember that Heaven is free…not earned or deserved. Today, we’re using our second finger, our pointer finger for the second word – MAN – meaning the entire human race. The Bible clearly states that man is a sinner and cannot save himself.  “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” are the words of Romans 3:23. Sin is anything that falls short of God’s perfect standard. An action, a word, a thought, an attitude…and because we are sinners, we cannot save ourselves. But the Gospel is Good News! Gospel Outline Week – Grace

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
How would you like to learn an easy to remember, hard to forget Gospel presentation? Using the five fingers of your hand, we’re going to put one word to each finger. The five words are GRACE, MAN, GOD, CHRIST and FAITH. We’ll look at one word for each day this week. Word number one is GRACE – picture your thumb pointing toward Heaven. Grace, heaven, eternal life, is a gift.  Romans 6:23 says, “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” And, like any gift, it is not earned or deserved. The Bible tells us that we’re saved through faith, not works. What a relief! Every other religion teaches that people must earn their way to Heaven, but not Christianity. Christianity alone proclaims that God’s favor and entrance into heaven are absolutely free to us because of Jesus' sacrifice. So, word number one of the Gospel is GRACE. And we need it desperately. Do’s and Don’t’s

Have you ever said something and immediately thought, "Why on earth did I say it that way?!" There are plenty of times when we feel like slinking away for saying the wrong thing, but here’s some good news! The Word of the Lord does not return void! Now, this doesn’t mean you walk up to everyone you want to reach with the Gospel and hit them over the head with a Bible saying the wrong thing. Concentrate on the portion of the verse that bears on the discussion at the moment, without assuming the person you’re talking to knows much about the Bible. Stress the positive benefits of the Gospel like the unspeakable joy you have because Heaven is a free gift! Trust that the Holy Spirit will do His work; you just need to be obedient. Above all, be kind and prayerful when sharing the Gospel so everyone you talk to can see the goodness of God through you. Now That You Know

Now that you know Jesus, you have a purpose! You may have felt like you were floating through life before you came to know the Lord; but now, you can walk with purpose. And the purpose you have, to share the love of God with others. It’s the perfect solution to a problem so many people face. Folks all over the world are searching for the reason that they’re here. It’s not enough to exist; and as a believer, you know that we were created for more than this life has to offer! So next time you hear someone say they don’t know their purpose and they don’t feel like they’re doing what they’re supposed to do, well, share with them how they CAN know. Only Jesus Christ can bring true purpose, no matter your current walk in life. Share that hope with someone today and pray the Lord will open their eyes to His plan for eternity. Just Ask

Just Ask. It couldn't hurt. I mean, it can certainly be easy to stereotype someone or to assume they already know Jesus or have had the Gospel presented to them. I remember a few years ago when a church started equipping their members to share the Gospel…a ninety year old man from the church came to faith in Jesus. Age doesn't matter to the Lord, so don't keep silent about the Gospel just because you think they've already made a decision. A man named Sam set out to witness one evening and found out the young man he was talking to was a local pastor's son, but he didn't let that stop him from asking if he knew that Heaven would be his home. He wasn't sure and ended up making a profession of faith right there with Sam! Your family situation and religious background don't determine where you'll spend eternity. Urgent

Sharing your faith‑well, other can putting your faith in Jesus, it's really the most important thing you could do. You know that, right? Our most important goal and purpose is to bring God glory by sharing the Good News of the Gospel with the lost. It was Jesus' last command before He ascended into heaven, and it is our first concern. Junior’s a biker, a real tough guy and not a talker. In fact, Junior was incredibly shy and liked to fade into the background. That is, until he met Jesus and learned to share the Gospel! And now Junior says, “It's too urgent!” He has to share the Gospel whenever he can. Dear listener, it really is urgent. We only have today to share the Gospel, so what are you waiting for? Just As Jesus Walked

Are you walking with the Lord? You know, you've probably heard that phrase “walking with the Lord” many times. But have you stopped to think about what it means? Well, first John 2:6 says, "The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked." Now, those are big shoes to fill! Jesus walked on water! He healed the sick and raised the dead! How on earth could you possibly walk as Jesus walked? Well, here's the grace of God: even though we'll never be able to live a perfect life, we can know the One who did. And we can have a very real relationship with Him, and we can share with others how they too can know Him. Walking just as Jesus walked won't make you superhuman, but it will give you a supernatural love for others. And that love will enable you to tell them the Good News of the Gospel. Fruitful Witnesses

It’s a fact—most people who love Jesus and embrace the Bible as God’s Holy Word never share the Gospel. I was in that same situation. I never thought that anyone would listen to me, but, you know, God granted me the opportunity to see that spiritual light turn on in others’ lives as they made professions of faith in Jesus. All it took was some tools and training that helped me share. And it’s not just me but millions of others also. One Vietnamese couple comes to mind. They’re from Canada. They attended Sunday services and Bible studies for years‑very involved in their church. But they didn’t know how to share their faith. After they gathered a few resources and some training to get started, it changed their lives. Other Christian friends saw this drastic change too. Now they are faithfully, fruitfully witnessing.
