Our Great Mission
Wednesday Aug 07, 2024
Wednesday Aug 07, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you have a personal mission statement? It seems like everybody nowadays has one. Like “to boldly go where no one has gone before.” And we as Christians are no different — we should have a target — a goal. This is not an uncontrolled stroll through the byways of life. We are not tourists, we are pilgrims. Our race has been clearly marked out by God’s Word. In 2 Timothy 4:7, Paul tells us that he has “fought the fight...he finished the race...he kept the faith.” How ridiculous it would be for a runner to show up at the New York Marathon and decide he did not like the course and start off in the wrong direction. Could he win the race? Of course not. Paul’s goal was to complete the mission Christ had given him (the same mission He has given to me and to you). This is to win people to Jesus, build them up in the faith, and send them to do the same. For more information on how you can finish strong, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Robert’s Story
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
He was old and feeble when I first saw him coming up the aisle. When he got up to the front, Robert put his finger up into my face, and he exclaimed, “Young man, I’ve tried witnessing for Jesus Christ my entire life, and I’ve never led anyone to Jesus. And now you tell me if I get involved and learn how to share my faith that I could to lead someone to Jesus before I die!" I told him yes; and through the next year, Robert learned to share the Gospel through an EE program at a church that he drove to twenty-one miles away. There was a hymn that we used to sing, that said, “Must I go but empty handed?” Well, Robert did not want that to be him. Now Robert isn't with us here anymore; Robert is now in heaven. But before he went, he didn’t only lead one person to Jesus...he led five people to Jesus! You see, he finished strong. Now I hope and pray that that can be said of each of us! And if it isn’t, today could be the beginning. Learn how to share your faith at www.sharelife.today.

A Life Well Lived
Monday Aug 05, 2024
Monday Aug 05, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Corrie Ten Boom said, “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.” I think she perfectly conveys what a life well lived is. One day, when we sit at the feet of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, what will be our donation? Like the old poem says, “Only one life will soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” Now, I don’t know about you, but when I see Jesus one day in Heaven, I don’t want to come empty-handed. I want to hear, “Well done.” I want to know that others will be in Heaven because I obeyed Christ, shared the Gospel, and had the privilege of seeing them make a decision to follow Jesus. And because of that desire, I want to live my life right now in the best way that I can—sharing the Gospel with the people around me. Would you like learn how you, too, can share your faith and see others come to Christ? Well, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

No Condemnation
Friday Aug 02, 2024
Friday Aug 02, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you know that there are people we pass by every day that are living entrapped in fear and condemnation? Many know how vast their sins are but have no answer for what to do about it. They’re hopeless and lost. And what a pity if we don't go and tell them about the amazing grace found only in Jesus. Wari from Papua New Guinea was out with his team in a village witnessing when they came across a woman. And as the conversation developed, they asked her if she was sure that she was going to heaven. She replied, "No, I know I'm going to hell." Because of some great sins she committed in her past, she knew confidently where her destination was. But Wari said, "We have Good News for you!" And they told her about how Jesus paid for her sins on the cross in full. With tears in her eyes, she put her faith in Jesus Christ. You know, we can bring that hope to others as we’re sharing the Gospel? For resources how, visit www.sharelife.today.

Lost But Now Found
Thursday Aug 01, 2024
Thursday Aug 01, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Today, I want to share with you an incredible story from New Zealand! Raj and Joyce unexpectedly encountered two high school students at a local mall. After striking up a conversation, they asked them spiritual questions, and both girls accepted Jesus after hearing the Gospel! And as the conversation continued, they discovered that the girls were struggling and homeless. They had run away from their homes, and right before Raj and Joyce had arrived, they had been praying for help. They felt compelled to offer them not only spiritual guidance but also a place to stay for the night and a warm meal. Well, that same night, Raj conveyed the importance of repentance from sin as well as the story of the prodigal son. The girls felt both convicted and contacted their parents to tell them they were safe. The next day, they were joyfully reunited. Raj and Joyce praised God for this picture of redemption and reconciliation through the Gospel. Learn how you too can share by visiting www.sharelife.today.

Newness in Repentance
Wednesday Jul 31, 2024
Wednesday Jul 31, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone’s in Christ, he is a new creation…” And this is exactly what happened in Sam’s life. But, really, the story starts a Christian named Pete in Australia. Pete received a text from his pastor’s wife asking if he would speak with an ex-inmate facing difficult challenges in his life. Well, when they met, Sam was transparent about the many struggles and hardships that he was facing, including his hatred of those of a certain religion. Well, Pete quickly turned the conversation to spiritual matters and shared the Gospel with Sam. And with tears in his eyes, Sam accepted Jesus as his Savior and confessed that he had planned to hurt people at a local place of worship. But now, his hatred melted away as he realized that he was a sinner and that Jesus paid the debt for his sin. He repented of his plan and turned to Jesus. Hallelujah! Going The Extra Mile
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
How far are we willing to go for the Gospel? Well, I know that it can sometimes feel impossible to even broach the topic of spiritual things with others; but truthfully, it is easier than we think. God provides opportunities for us to share, whether He brings the person to us or asks us to step out in faith and find them. And for some, they are very willing to go the extra mile. Beverly is the National Director of EE in Vanuatu, and it is common for her and her team to pack up a boat and sail across the ocean to another smaller island. And they do this to teach Christians how to confidently and lovingly share their faith, and then they see person after person give their lives to Christ. And if Beverly can do that for Jesus, well…we can too. So who can you go the extra mile to share the Gospel with this week? For more on how you can share your faith, visit www.sharelife.today. That’s www.sharelife.today.

Thriving Oceania
Monday Jul 29, 2024
Monday Jul 29, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
I’m excited this week to continue telling you more about what God is doing around the globe. And Oceania is our spotlight! In the ministry of Evangelism Explosion, we have seven key nations that span almost four thousand miles each way across the Pacific...and they help disciple Christians all across this vast continent! From New Zealand to the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea to the Cook Islands, and everywhere in between, Oceania is a large area to cover. And yet, the Gospel is going forth! Our Vice President of Oceania, Anne Bowie, shared with us recently that they have never experienced a better year in the ministry or more exciting time to be a Christian in Oceania. And this is because they are seeing young leaders being raised as disciple-makers in the church and more people than ever are making professions of faith in Jesus. Mylan’s Decision
Friday Jul 26, 2024
Friday Jul 26, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What happens when you make sharing the Gospel a part of your daily life? Well, God starts to send people to you to hear the Good News. This happened in Don's life when he and his wife went to the park with their grandchildren. Don's grandson wanted to play basketball, but he didn't have anything to shoot with. He ended up trying to use a tetherball (but without much success). A man named Mylan saw his plight and brought over a basketball. As the grandchild played, Mylan and Don struck up a conversation. Don was able to start asking about spiritual things; and when he asked Mylan what he would say if God were to ask, "why should I let you into My heaven?" Mylan didn't know what he'd say. So Don shared the Gospel with him, and Mylan gave his heart to Christ that day. And then he recorded a video about his decision and shared it on his social media! Uniting the Church
Thursday Jul 25, 2024
Thursday Jul 25, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In sunny Arizona, two churches have partnered together to train their congregations to learn how to share their faith. These two churches participated in an Equip America event back in February. And the excitement was so great that after the event that it united these churches in the common goal of reaching their community for Christ. Now, they are focused on discipling the Christians of their churches in how to comfortably and clearly tell others about Jesus. A few weeks ago, some of the Christians being equipped participated in a Mother's Day event called "Moms and More." It was put on for families-in-need to provide them with clothes, coffee and donuts, and community services that will help them. Within one hour, six people gave their lives to Christ. What an amazing use of an hour! And now those families have eternal and lasting hope that can only be found in Christ.
