Mylan’s Decision

What happens when you make sharing the Gospel a part of your daily life? Well, God starts to send people to you to hear the Good News. This happened in Don's life when he and his wife went to the park with their grandchildren. Don's grandson wanted to play basketball, but he didn't have anything to shoot with. He ended up trying to use a tetherball (but without much success). A man named Mylan saw his plight and brought over a basketball. As the grandchild played, Mylan and Don struck up a conversation. Don was able to start asking about spiritual things; and when he asked Mylan what he would say if God were to ask, "why should I let you into My heaven?" Mylan didn't know what he'd say. So Don shared the Gospel with him, and Mylan gave his heart to Christ that day. And then he recorded a video about his decision and shared it on his social media! Uniting the Church

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In sunny Arizona, two churches have partnered together to train their congregations to learn how to share their faith. These two churches participated in an Equip America event back in February. And the excitement was so great that after the event that it united these churches in the common goal of reaching their community for Christ. Now, they are focused on discipling the Christians of their churches in how to comfortably and clearly tell others about Jesus. A few weeks ago, some of the Christians being equipped participated in a Mother's Day event called "Moms and More." It was put on for families-in-need to provide them with clothes, coffee and donuts, and community services that will help them. Within one hour, six people gave their lives to Christ. What an amazing use of an hour! And now those families have eternal and lasting hope that can only be found in Christ. The Gospel in Two Tongues

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What are some things you have done that pushed you outside of your comfort zone? In Alberta, Canada, a group of Christ-followers are so passionate about sharing the Gospel that they decided to learn it in another language. While they already knew how to tell the Good News in Korean, these Christians felt called to learn how to share it in English too. Then, the Holy Spirit could lead them to even more people that they could talk to in both languages. Talk about a commitment to the Great Commission! To help teach them, both the US and Canadian ministries have come together to train this church weekly over Zoom, and they have already seen some incredible results. Family members and friends have been invited to be a part of the online On The Job Trainings—which are times they can practice sharing—and they have already seen many come to know Christ. Visitor Cards

When you first stepped into your church, who were the people who made you feel seen and loved? A local church in Pennsylvania has decided to start visiting and sharing the Gospel with those who fill out first-time visitor cards. Not only is this a great way to care for those who come on Sundays, but they also are able to tell them the best news they could ever hear. Using what they learned at an EE Share Your Faith Workshop, the congregation has seen people come to Christ left and right, week after week. Just recently, they followed up with a young couple who cheerfully invited them into their home. The team had a chance to share the Gospel, and both prayed to receive Christ. The woman, with tears streaming down her cheeks, thanked them over and over for coming. Everyone up to that point had assumed that they were Christians because of how they talked, but now they truly had a relationship with Jesus. When we step out in faith and share the Gospel, God will prepare the way for us. We have seen it time and time again—God truly creates divine appointments. Just recently here in America, Bill, Miguel, and Jill went out to share their faith at a training event in Tampa, Florida. They were leaving a park when they all noticed a woman. And Bill finally stopped and turned to the others. He said, "We have to turn around. I think God is telling us to talk to her." It turns out that T, who they saw, was hanging out with D at the park. They were in some of the toughest situations of their lives. And after hearing the Gospel, they looked at each other and said, “Yeah, we have to do this. We want to do this.” That day, they gave their lives to Christ and have been connected with a local church. So who can you share today with? Hope in Despair

The Gospel brings hope. When people hear about how Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for their sins, rose again, and is in heaven now offering the free gift of eternal life to them, they are offered the hope of forgiveness and joy. And there’s no greater gift! In Guyana, a church team went out into the community to share the Gospel with people in a local park. They were greatly disappointed when they found that no one was there. They circled up to pray for God’s guidance when a group of mourners caught their attention. They went over to them and met the family and friends who were overcome with grief. They were very interested in hearing what the church team had to say, and the team shared the hope of the Gospel with them. It’s No Coincidence

Did you know that God creates what we at EE like to call “Divine Appointments”? It’s those coincidental meetings or occurrences that, on further inspection, could only be God divinely bringing people together. We see them all the time because if you’re ready and willing to share the Gospel, God will draw people to you to hear it. That’s exactly what happened to Ruth in Chile. She met Rachel when she showed up at their church with a friend, who invited her that day. Ruth just so happened to be discipling Christians in how to share their faith. Rachel saw what they were doing and joined the training, where Ruth was able to have a spiritual conversation and share the Gospel with her. She joyfully prayed to receive Christ! Later that year, Ruth saw Rachel again on a church walk and met her daughter, Stephanie, who prayed to receive Jesus after hearing the Gospel from Ruth! Radically Transformed

In Argentina about seven years ago, Ruben met “Gino,” a man who had a large criminal record in the neighborhood. Even being around him was risky because he had committed so many crimes. He was greatly feared in the community and had been to prison many times. But a mutual friend had invited him to Ruben’s house, and Ruben took the opportunity to ask him questions. Through the conversation, Ruben was able to share his testimony and then the Gospel with him. And when Gino heard about the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, he wanted it. After accepting Jesus as his Savior, he strove to get work and to leave behind who he was before. Today, Gino is actively involved in his local church with his wife and passionately shares the Gospel and disciples others to do the same. Jesus has radically transformed him from the inside out. The Gospel Changes Everything

Have you ever felt a void in your heart that can’t be filled? This is how Hermelinda felt. She lives in the country of Panama and has had a difficult life. As a child, she lived in a foster home with few resources. She married and had seven children, but nothing would fill the void in her heart. She turned to alcohol and dancing but was left feeling empty. After years of chasing meaning and happiness, her husband died, and sadness engulfed her. But God started to work in her life to draw her to Him. In June of 2019, Hermelinda heard the Gospel and placed her trust in Jesus alone. She serves today in her local church. And for her, at the age of 69, it’s not a limitation; she’s learned to share her faith and tells everyone what Jesus has done for her and how she’s become filled with joy and strength. God’s Faithfulness in Latin America

We are so excited to share more stories about what’s happening around the globe with you. And this week, our spotlight is Latin America! God is so faithful. Truly, as we walk with Him and seek His will, God shows up. And as we’re faithful to His command to share the Gospel, we see Him change lives before our very eyes! This happened in Latin America this past year. At one of our evangelism discipleship trainings in Colombia, Milagro came to learn more about God and evangelism. During the training, she felt God speak to her regarding salvation and revealed to her that she couldn’t do enough good works to save herself. Only by placing her trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross could she be saved. She felt like a woman free of working her way to heaven.
