The Gospel in South African Schools
Friday Jun 14, 2024
Friday Jun 14, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Magdeline came to one of our evangelism trainings in South Africa and learned how to share the Gospel using her hand. She learned about God’s grace and the other Gospel points. After experiencing what it was like to share the Gospel, Magdeline’s heart caught fire for sharing the Good News with everyone that she came across. She was so passionate and committed that her friend Sophie told her, “Magdeline, I have a children’s discipleship program from the same ministry that I’d like to come and teach in your church.” After the training, she ran to Sophie and asked, “Can we take this and teach it in the schools? Because this is too good to end up in churches only.” And that’s how Sophie and Magdeline started sharing the Gospel and discipling children in South Africa. In Magdeline’s words, “I’m old, but I don’t feel old because I work with children.” She finds joy in seeing children’s lives transformed by Jesus. A Spirit-led Gospel Conversation
Thursday Jun 13, 2024
Thursday Jun 13, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Holy Spirit really works through us. Audry took a long bus ride to the northern part of Burundi, Africa, and sat next a woman who introduced herself as Chantal. Now naturally, the conversation turned to spiritual things, and Audry was able to share with her the Good News of the Gospel. When he started sharing about Jesus, Audry wanted to ask, “Who do you think Jesus is?” …but he had forgotten her name! The Holy Spirit prompted him to call her Yvonne. She replied, “Wow! How do you know my real name?” She had told Audry a false one because, at first, she didn’t want to talk to him. She said, “The fact that you know my real name means that the One leading you is above all things.” She listened eagerly to the rest of the Gospel and received Jesus as her Savior. She said, “Now, I know that God loves me. Even the things that I tried to hide, they’re known by Him.” You know, you can learn how to share the Gospel too by visiting our website at www.sharelife.today.

The Feet That Bring Good News
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
As we continue sharing what God is doing around the world; I want to share with you an inspiring story from Uganda. Denis took a team that he was discipling to a football field for what we call “On The Job training.” They saw someone seated dangerously on a cliff at the edge of the field. If the man wasn’t careful, he would fall and get hurt. Denis and his team approached the young man whose name was Jonathan. He’d lost his job two weeks back and was desperate and depressed about his situation. That morning, Jonathan prayed for God to show him the way, even though he had never prayed before and didn’t know God. But he had heard that when you pray, God answers. So Jonathan told Denis, “Share your message with me!” After they told him the Gospel, Jonathan committed his life to Jesus. Who do you know that needs to hear the Gospel? Let the Children Come
Tuesday Jun 11, 2024
Tuesday Jun 11, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” This famous passage from Matthew 19 shows us Jesus' heart—God loves the little children of the world. And He wants to have a personal relationship with them! Something I prayed over my own children is that they would know the Lord at the earliest possible age. And, you know, we have an opportunity in our communities and our families to share the hope found in Christ with our children. You know, in Africa, we’ve been doing this through a program called Hope for Kids. Children are learning the key points of the Gospel, and they’re giving their hearts to Jesus. They also are learning how they can clearly share it with their friends as well! And last year, we saw over eight million children hear the Good News of the Gospel. A Dangerous Christian
Monday Jun 10, 2024
Monday Jun 10, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This summer, we’re spotlighting what God is doing around the world; and this week, we are hearing stories from Africa. And let me tell you...there are exciting things happening on this continent. Just this past year through evangelism training events, we saw over twenty million people make professions of faith in Jesus. And that happened through over one million believers learning how to share their faith—both adults and children. These Christians were in churches, schools, and even prisons; and they began to share the Gospel and reach their communities for Jesus. You want to make a Christian dangerous to the enemy? Well, teach them how to share the Good News! The Bible says that the gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ's church. Let's do the same as our African brothers- and sisters-in-Christ—let's take the Good News of what Jesus has done on the cross to our communities. Not sure where to start? Well, we'd love to help. Persecution in Lebanon
Friday Jun 07, 2024
Friday Jun 07, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
As we conclude this week talking about the church globally and how we’re called to go to the nations, I wanted to share a testimony with you from a challenging part of the world. Made up of the former Soviet Union and most of the Middle East, Central Asia is a region where persecution happens almost every day to Christ-followers. And yet, God is moving mightily in these countries. For instance, in a small village in Lebanon, a family heard the Gospel from a team of Christians who knocked on their door. The husband, the wife, and all the children gave their hearts to Christ that day. And the villagers were not pleased and began persecuting them heavily. However, God used these same Christians who led the family to Christ to share with the villagers also, and their minds were changed. So let's be encouraged today to step out ourselves and to share the Gospel. You can learn more about how you can share your faith at www.sharelife.today. That’s www.sharelife.today.

Rejoice in Persecution
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In His famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." You know, persecution can be a difficult topic to talk about; and yet if we are followers of Christ, Jesus Himself said that we will face it. But it will not be in vain. Christ promises that when we share in His sufferings by facing insults and false accusations that there is a reward. When I read this, I am encouraged that firstly, I am not in this alone—Jesus has experienced the very same rejection. And secondly, there is no reason to be scared to share my faith because even if it ends in persecution, my Savior says, “Rejoice.” So let's take heart and share! For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

A Taste of Heaven
Wednesday Jun 05, 2024
Wednesday Jun 05, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The auditorium was packed. As I stopped and looked around, I heard dozens of languages being spoken at the same time. We all settled into our seats as our time together was called to order. This was Evangelism Explosion's third Congress of Nations, and eighty-three different countries were represented. During that morning, we sang "How Great is Our God" (which is a powerful song in and of itself), but this time the worship leader asked for everyone to sing in their own language. Words cannot describe the beauty of that moment—where Arabic was sung alongside Czech and Fijian. And you know, this is exactly what heaven is going to be like—because every tribe, tongue, and nation will be there. And we have the privilege of inviting people to be a part of that group by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! So let’s be part of that day by being bold witnesses for God today. Join in Prayer
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In the book of Ephesians, we read, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." So let us not neglect praying for our brothers and sisters all around the world. They’re fighting for their faith on their knees; and often, both their lives and livelihoods are in jeopardy simply for following Christ. So how can we join them in prayer? Well firstly, we should pray for their safety as they worship and share the Gospel in cultures that discriminate against them for their faith. Secondly, we should pray for resources, as many of our brothers and sisters face poverty, hunger, and disease. And thirdly, we should pray for perseverance—that even despite what they face that they continue to grow in their walks with Christ and share it with others who need the same hope. Our First Concern
Monday Jun 03, 2024
Monday Jun 03, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Have you ever heard this famous Biblical passage before? You know, it's called the Great Commission, and it's Christ's final command to us before He returned to Heaven. Unfortunately, it can be something that Christians ignore for a number of reasons. One of them is that we get involved in all kinds of seemingly good things that keep us all too busy. Jim Collins wrote a widely used book in the business world that opens with this statement, “Good is the enemy of great.” And so many times we get involved in all kinds of good things; and yet, they are not the great thing that we could be doing in seeing men and women come to Jesus. Christ said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” And His last command should be out first concern. For more resources on sharing the Gospel, visit www.sharelife.today
