The Gospel Changes Everything

Have you ever felt a void in your heart that can’t be filled? This is how Hermelinda felt. She lives in the country of Panama and has had a difficult life. As a child, she lived in a foster home with few resources. She married and had seven children, but nothing would fill the void in her heart. She turned to alcohol and dancing but was left feeling empty. After years of chasing meaning and happiness, her husband died, and sadness engulfed her. But God started to work in her life to draw her to Him. In June of 2019, Hermelinda heard the Gospel and placed her trust in Jesus alone. She serves today in her local church. And for her, at the age of 69, it’s not a limitation; she’s learned to share her faith and tells everyone what Jesus has done for her and how she’s become filled with joy and strength. God’s Faithfulness in Latin America

We are so excited to share more stories about what’s happening around the globe with you. And this week, our spotlight is Latin America! God is so faithful. Truly, as we walk with Him and seek His will, God shows up. And as we’re faithful to His command to share the Gospel, we see Him change lives before our very eyes! This happened in Latin America this past year. At one of our evangelism discipleship trainings in Colombia, Milagro came to learn more about God and evangelism. During the training, she felt God speak to her regarding salvation and revealed to her that she couldn’t do enough good works to save herself. Only by placing her trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross could she be saved. She felt like a woman free of working her way to heaven. Sports

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
You know, in sports there are two types of folks: the players, and the spectators. And there are many of us who live vicariously through the players without ever so much as putting on a pair of athletic shoes. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening in many churches today, and it’s heartbreaking. Believers are sitting on the sidelines of the Christian faith, letting others do the work of evangelism while they miss out on fun, and the blessings. But you know, it doesn’t have to be that way! In Europe, there are churches who band together every summer to put on summer camps for children. And during their time at the camp, they not only play sports but also have an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. And at the very same time, adults and teenagers are being discipled in how to share their faith. Now that sounds like a win-win! Be encouraged—it's never too late to start sharing the Gospel. Don’t Be Discouraged

Do you ever get discouraged from sharing your faith? I want to encourage you today: you never know what God is doing. Walter’s from Austria and has been discipling Christians there in how to share the Gospel. One day, he went out asking two questions, “Do you know for sure that you’ll be with God in Heaven?” and “If God were to ask you, ‘Why should I let you into my Heaven, what would you say?” He asked those questions all over the city but didn’t have anyone respond. Walter returned home discouraged. But a week later, he gets a call from a friend who tells him that a young woman he asked those questions to was stirred to find out the answers. So, she went to the only Christian couple she knew, and they led her to Jesus. And now she joined the Church! God is changing hearts. God Will Use Us

“If I can lead just one person to Jesus in the next ten years, I’ll be happy the rest of my life.” This was the prayer of Toni from Finland before he joined one of our evangelism discipleship trainings. So he started learning how he could share his faith, and on his first attempt talking with his friend, who was the bass player in the band he was in, something unexpected happened…his friend wanted to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior! Toni was blown away. He told God, “I said ten years—not five weeks!” But Toni experienced this truth: if we’re faithful to share the Good News of the Gospel, God will use us. The Holy Spirit will draw hearts to Himself, and we’ll get to be a part of it! There is nothing more fun than leading a person through committing their life to Christ and watching everything change. Discipleship and Multiplication

In the Czech Republic, Michal is faithfully discipling Christians how to share the Gospel! He started 2024 off by training two Christians to share their faith. And now, those two are equipping at least fourteen people between them! Now, that’s what I call multiplication. This past March, everyone went out to share the Gospel on the streets of Prague as part of the training, and Michal came across four Ukrainian teenagers who were refugees from the war. The two teenage girls of the group, Kristyna and Margo, both accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and asked to be discipled by the Christians who shared with them! The kingdom of God is growing, and He’s using men and women just like you and me to share the Good News of the Gospel with people and to disciple them. Post Modern Europe

This summer, we’re taking a look around the world and seeing God is at work. And this week, we will be hearing stories of what God is doing in Europe. Europe is perhaps one of the most post-modern places on the planet, and yet, God is moving in mighty ways through this continent. Even in these past years of war and great political turmoil, hundreds of thousands of people have given their lives to Christ. Some of these have been refugees that have flooded across the borders of nations. And Christians in countries like Moldova, and Romania, and Poland have been able to come together and bring supplies to those in need. In addition to these acts of love, they’ve been able to share the Gospel, and many have come to know Jesus because of it. Let's join in and be faithful witnesses in our communities as well. For God and Country

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I’ll hear from heaven, and I’ll forgive their sin and will heal their land." This promise from God found in 2 Chronicles gives us such hope—even in a time where hope is scarce in our country. But here's the truth: God is faithful; He keeps His promises. So, we must humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face. We must turn from our wicked ways and repent of our sins. That's the power of the Gospel. When we place our trust in Jesus alone and turn from our sins, when we accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives...everything changes. And when this happens in a person after person, well...our culture and country changes. It heals as we’re healed. So let's not delay—let's share the Gospel. A Community Impact

Things change when a community comes together. We see this time and time again in our neighborhoods, cities, and country. And this very same principle applies to telling others about Jesus. We’re stronger together. In Namibia, Africa, this is happening all across the country. But I'd love to share with you an example of the local churches. They came together for an evangelism training event for children's workers, where they taught Hope For Kids, a program that disciples children to share their faith. And then, they took it back to their churches and started implementing it. And children in the community's lives started to change. And through that, the community started to change. This was all because Christians like you and me decided to come together and make an impact. And these believers were part of over 8 million children hearing the Gospel this past year worldwide. Not In My Country

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
I met a pastor a few years ago who told me that evangelism doesn’t work anymore. He told me you can’t go and talk to people because the culture doesn’t approve. Do you know where this pastor was from? The African nation of Zambia. Unfortunately, that is a common statement we often hear around the world. However, I asked this pastor if he’d be open to come to a training near his home in Zambia and test his theory. Well, during that week, the Gospel was shared with 234 people with 158 giving their lives to Christ. Needless to say, he not only had a change of heart but a renewed passion for sharing the Gospel. And this is what we want to happen in our country. Sharing the Gospel is still effective. People are open to hearing the Good News of the Gospel…so let's share!
