Tozer shares an important truth about thankfulness—it has great power. A grateful heart is not only valuable to God, but it also makes us quite different from most of humanity. Before having a relationship with Jesus, all of us were dead in our sins. And there are many who still operate that way and need to hear the Good News of the Gospel. It goes against our sinful natures to be thankful. But when we look outside of ourselves and realize that the grace and mercy that God offers we don’t deserve, we become thankful. Because this is the Father's love for us—that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So let's be salt and light in a world that desperately needs to hear the Gospel. Who can you share with? A Ministry of Gratitude

What is the nature of our ministry? You might ask, "John...what do you mean by that?" Well, every day we have a choice. We can either walk in joy, peace, and thankfulness or spiral into frustration and discouragement. And let's face it: life is busy. And in the busyness we can easily lose sight of what's important. And perhaps the highest calling that we’ve been given is to share the Gospel with others—and to do it with gratitude to God. We should model ourselves after Paul, who labored for the Lord with a thankful heart. Because true gratitude causes action. And to be thankful, we can’t just sit around. We have to give back or pass it on! And when we share the Gospel with others out of gratitude to God, others will see that thankfulness radiate from our hearts. The Best Gift Ever

What do you think is the best gift ever? Well today, I want to share with you an opportunity we should not miss this holiday season as we prepare gifts for our family and friends—and that is the sharing about the life-changing, wonderful love of God. The Gospel is literally the best news ever! Having a relationship with Jesus brings us joy, peace, and a fulfilling life. So as you pick gifts to give, let me encourage you to add a card. And inside, share a verse, like Romans five eight: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." And then write a note about how God has changed your life. Say, "If you'd like to hear more, I'd love to share with you about how having a relationship with God has impacted my life!" Preparing for the Season

I don’t know about you, but each year seems to go by more quickly than the last one, doesn't it?  The holiday season tends to sneak up and another year is behind us. Well, don't let this holiday season go by without learning how to share the Good News of Jesus. It can be as simple as taking EE's online training course over the next couple of weeks. Get a friend to do it with you and pray together for lost loved ones you will see this holiday season. Demonstrate God’s Love

As the holiday season rolls around, it can be daunting to think about hosting your family and friends. There’re invitations to go out, food to be prepared, the energy that gets expended through all the planning...and perhaps there’s even worries about the disagreements that can happen when people of different views come together. But if we are to follow the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, this shouldn't discourage us. Jesus throughout all the Gospels was recorded sitting down with sinners and tax collectors and spending time with the outcast and the poor. Jesus is the epitome of a servant leader and friend of sinners. And as the holidays get closer, this is our opportunity to demonstrate God's love through hospitality and sharing the greatest news that will change lives for all eternity—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Halloween and the Gospel

Do your Halloween plans this evening involve the Gospel? As believers, we should try to do everything that we can to point people to the Gospel. Last year, my church held a big event on Halloween with more candy than you could count! It was open to the community so there was a huge crowd. The focus, however, was not on candy, though every child left with more than they could eat. The focus was the Gospel. Every child and parent heard a clear Gospel presentation and an invitation to accept Christ as Lord and Savior...all before they got to the candy and to the carnival attractions! And while your event may be different, the message can be the same. Be thinking about how you can share the hope you have tonight. Perhaps it starts with candy and leads to a Gospel conversation or perhaps an opportunity to share your testimony. Whatever it is, let your light shine! For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

Prayer is God’s Plan

You know, we often say at Evangelism Explosion that witnessing without prayer is presumption. Before we ever start looking for opportunities to share the Gospel, we should be coming before God, asking for His guidance and wisdom. Jesus Himself told us in John fifteen, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Elisabeth Elliot said, "Prayer lays hold of God's plan and becomes the link between his will and its accomplishment on earth." And you know what the Bible says is part of God's will for our lives? It's that we would be bold witnesses and share with others what Christ has done for them. So let me challenge you: start praying for your friends and family that you’ll see over the holidays and watch God orchestrate ways you can start spiritual conversations and then share the Gospel with them. Step It Up

Step it up. Come on, get moving. We’ve heard or maybe even said that phrase in order to spur on a child or a teammate. Better hurry up and do what you need to do. We’ve heard it, but are we doing it? Are you stepping up and sharing your faith and discipling other believers? If you're not, you better get moving. Don't do it because I'm telling you to, do it because Jesus has commissioned you to do it! The Great Commission commands us to go out and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in Jesus' Name. How do we step up? First, we need to step out. Step out of your comfort zone and connect with younger or less mature believers who need help growing in their faith. We can't continue to reach the world for Jesus, without training His church to do it! Share Your God Story

Often times, we convince ourselves that no one wants to hear what we have to say even before we say it. But guess what? The Holy Spirit is at work in hearts and lives of the people around us — preparing them to hear the Good News of the Gospel. And we have the privilege to share it. A good way to see if someone is open to hearing more about spiritual things is by sharing the God stories happening right now in your life. You might be thinking right now, "Well, what is a God story?" It is simply telling others the things God is doing in your own life. It could be something like: before you had a relationship with Jesus, you struggled with loneliness. But now that you’re His child, you feel loved and part of the big family of God. Or it could be how God provided in a very difficult situation. Whatever it is, you can use these stories to share the Gospel with others. Holy Spirit Nudge

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Have you ever felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to witness to someone?  In Acts chapter 8, the Lord tells Philip to go and talk to someone. Philip went where he was told and found a man reading Scripture. He asked the man if he understood it, and he didn't. Do you think that Phillip was nervous at this point? Sure he was! But he stepped out in faith and made himself available to the man. Turns out, his simple question—"Do you understand?"—was just the right thing to say to start a Gospel conversation. Phillip's obedience gave this man an opportunity to accept Jesus, and he did! In fact, he immediately asked to be baptized. He wanted to proclaim his new faith! So, the next time you feel a need to go speak to someone, but aren't sure what to say, remember Phillip. Remember that God will not lead you to someone and leave you hanging.
