Don’t Believe the Lie

John Piper said, "The Gospel is the Good News that the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of the never-boring, ever-satisfying Christ is ours freely and eternally by faith in the sin-forgiving death and hope-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ." So why is it that nowadays there are many churches who act like this Good News isn’t that important to share? Well, many Christians have bought into the lie from the enemy that sharing will lead to angry confrontation. So we then neglect to share the very Good News that has changed our lives. We convince ourselves that no one wants to hear it. Well, let me encourage you with this today: I’ve shared the Gospel worldwide to people of all different backgrounds, cultures, and ages. And very rarely have I had anyone react with anger. More often than not, the person I share with thanks me for taking the time to share. So let's step out and learn to share at www.sharelife.today.

Forgotten Good News

Do you ever have times when you walk out the door, and you realized you’ve forgotten your keys? Or have you gone on vacation only to realize after you've left that you forgot your toothbrush? Now, these are somewhat silly things to forget. But in the Bible, there were often times when prophets, apostles, and disciples had to remind the people of what God said in His Word because humans can be...well...forgetful! Our attention gets taken by so many things, and we forget the important truths that we have already been told. And the truth is that the church has internationally forgotten something important: We have forgotten that the Gospel is, in fact, GOOD NEWS! Every Testimony Matters (Rewrite)

Every testimony is important. Now for some of us, we came to have a relationship with Christ later on in life. We have a clear "before" and "after" story about when Jesus came into our hearts. But did you know, this is not the only testimony that God uses? If you grew up knowing Jesus from a very young age, I want you to know that your story matters too. You know, it's often thought that these are "less powerful" ones because they’re not full of drastic and sudden change. However, it’s not the case at all! You have a lifetime of stories sharing the benefits of having a relationship with Christ. Lois says that Jesus is her friend and Savior. Because she is naturally a shy person, she doesn't tend to meet others easily. But God has placed a handful of meaningful friends in her life who help her to grow in her walk with Jesus. John’s Story

“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” Well, I’ve learned that you actually can if you have a salt tablet. And for us as Christians, our testimonies are salt tablets. Your salty testimony can make non-Christians thirsty for the water of life. There are at least a couple of key elements to an effective testimony: What was your life like before you received eternal life; how did you receive it, and now that you have it, what’s your life been like since? Allow me to share a brief version of mine:  Before I had eternal life I was absolutely afraid of dying. Then someone shared with me the greatest news about how I could have eternal life and it changed me. I no longer fear death.  I’ve had that confidence ever since and I know that if I died today, I’d go to be with God in Heaven. You can read the rest of it on www.whatsmystory.org. The Best Decision

What is a testimony? Well, it is a public profession and outward expression of our inner faith. And it should be shared boldly because, frankly, it’s powerful. Revelation 12:11 says that we will defeat the enemy by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” So how important is it that we share! This past month, Edmund did just that on www.whatsmystory.org. He shared that before he accepted Jesus Christ that he always felt that there was a huge void in his life. He felt lonely than in those days. A few years later, a colleague shared with Edmund the Gospel and led him to accept Jesus Christ. And he says that it was the best decision of his life. Even in these hard days where many lives are filled with fear and worry, Edmund has an inner peace that passes all understanding from knowing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. From Anxiety to Peace

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you realize that you have an extremely powerful tool that can help bring people to saving faith in Jesus Christ? It’s your testimony! And they come in all shapes and sizes, but what they have in common is that they tell of God's faithfulness and grace in each of our lives. Take Isaac from Myanmar, for example. Before he received eternal life (despite the fact that he looked outwardly confident), Isaac always felt uncertain about his life and was anxious for the future. He even went to church every Sunday, attended Sunday school, and participated in church activities; but he didn't know Christ personally. Then, someone shared with Isaac how he could receive eternal life, and everything changed. Now, twenty-three years later, Isaac still has the peace and contentment that he felt even that first day of coming to Christ. He no longer has any fear of what will happen to him—even if it’s death. Your Story

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you realize that God has given you a story to tell?  We often refer to it as a testimony but I prefer to call it “your story.” If you have trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, your story of how God saved you and changed you counts.  I hope that’s obvious to you.  But as I travel the world, I’m often amazed at how many Christians don’t think their story counts for much of anything.  I hope you’re not one of those people who thinks their story is lackluster or “no big deal” because that just doesn’t line-up with Scripture.  In Revelation 12 verse 11, it says, “And they have defeated him (meaning Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”  According to that verse, your testimony is an incredibly valuable and powerful witnessing tool.  When’s the last time you shared it with someone?  If you need help preparing your story, we have a free testimony-building tool that I encourage you to check out.  Just visit www.sharelife.today.

A Noisy Cymbal

You know that noise your smoke detector makes when it needs new batteries? It causes some annoyance and anxiety, doesn’t it? No one wants to be around that screeching! You know, sometimes we can be just like that loud noise that no one wants to hear. The Apostle Paul says we can do very good things, but if our words are not spoken out of love, it’s just a bunch of noise.
So what is love? Now, I’m not talking about romantic love. That’s a fleeting emotion that won’t be consistent throughout time – it’s certainly not unconditional. I am talking about the unwavering, unconditional love of God. First John says we love because He first loved us. Without the love of Jesus, we’ll never know what true love is. Can you imagine never knowing the love of God? Friends, this is why it's so important that we make sure that we’re spreading the love of Jesus to everyone we can. Not sure where to start? The Eternal Love of God

Why do we traditionally use diamonds in wedding rings? Well, it's because of that age-old phrase, "A diamond is forever." They symbolize the never-ending love that a couple vows to one another. Now, truthfully, diamonds do not last forever...yes, they are sturdy rocks, but all things on earth decay or break. You know what is forever? The eternal, never-ending love of God. Once we put our trust in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation, we gain a priceless relationship with God. And it is eternal. His love for us will never end. In Isaiah 54:10, God tells us, "'For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,' says the Lord, who has mercy on [us]." This truth changes everything. Who do you know that needs to hear about the everlasting love of God? God’s Love Builds Bridges

Do you realize that God is in the business of reconciliation? After coming to know the Lord, Sunny and Roshna learned to share their faith through EE classes and immediately began sharing the Gospel. They were converted to Jesus from their former religion, and do you know where they started sharing the Gospel? Well, at their former place of worship! Roshna said as they shared their testimony, you could hear a pin drop! The name of Jesus was being preached, with love, in a place His Name had never been. If that’s not bridging the gap, I don’t know what is! Jesus’ love bridges the gap between our sinfulness and God’s righteousness. Aren’t you glad that through Him, we can have Eternal Life because He made a way for us? There are so many stories in the Bible where Jesus urges us to bridge the gap and reconcile sinners to God.
