Not In My Country
Wednesday Jul 03, 2024
Wednesday Jul 03, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
I met a pastor a few years ago who told me that evangelism doesn’t work anymore. He told me you can’t go and talk to people because the culture doesn’t approve. Do you know where this pastor was from? The African nation of Zambia. Unfortunately, that is a common statement we often hear around the world. However, I asked this pastor if he’d be open to come to a training near his home in Zambia and test his theory. Well, during that week, the Gospel was shared with 234 people with 158 giving their lives to Christ. Needless to say, he not only had a change of heart but a renewed passion for sharing the Gospel. And this is what we want to happen in our country. Sharing the Gospel is still effective. People are open to hearing the Good News of the Gospel…so let's share! The Gospel Changes Everything
Tuesday Jul 02, 2024
Tuesday Jul 02, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Gospel changes everything. Can I get an amen?! In our day and age, what's happening in our country and culture makes things look very bleak. But there is truth that we as Christians believe...the Gospel changes people from the inside out. And when people are changed, communities change. When communities change, cities are changed; and when cities are changed, nations are changed. The power of the Gospel is salvation for all who put their trust in Jesus and Him alone. So if we want to change our country and our culture, we need to start with the Gospel. Its transforming power changes hurting, sinful hearts to joyful, peace-filled ones. Because when someone puts their trust in Jesus, He gives them the Holy Spirit who gifts them with these things. I don't know about you, but I want every person I can tell to know about the love of Jesus and the hope that’s found only in Him. So let's get sharing! Visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Hope In Our Country
Monday Jul 01, 2024
Monday Jul 01, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
We should all want hope in our country. But you know what? We'll never have hope in our country until we have hope in our cities. And we'll never have hope in our cities until we have hope on our streets. We'll never have hope on our streets until we have hope in our homes. And we'll never have hope in our homes until we have hope in our heart. So then, here's the question: how do we get hope in our hearts? The source is Jesus Christ. Jesus came so that we could have new life. And it is that new life that is the fountain of hope within us. Billy Graham said it well, "For the believer, there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door to heaven for us by His death and resurrection." This eternal hope starts the moment we put our trust in Jesus and carries through all eternity. To learn how to share this hope, visit www.sharelife.today.

Dangerous Resolutions
Friday Jun 28, 2024
Friday Jun 28, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you make dangerous goals? Now, you might ask, "Well, John, what do you mean? Are you asking if I plan to sky-dive or cliff-jump?" While those sound exciting, that's not what I’m asking. 1 Peter 4:19 says, "So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good." It can be hard to live for Christ when we know that we are going to suffer and be persecuted for it. And I’m not going to sugarcoat it—the truth is, there are Christians around the world who face hardship every day for their faith. We see this continually in Eurasia. For countries like Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Russia, throughout the “stans” and many more, you can be persecuted or killed for being a believer. And yet, in Eurasia, Christians are boldly sharing the Gospel—because they know that the people around them need the hope found only in Jesus. May we be as bold! For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

Sharing in Azerbaijan

Thursday Jun 27, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In the predominantly Muslim country of Azerbaijan, something amazing happened. A family was visiting one of the major cities, and their friend asked Al-Sham if they could stay with him. Well, Al-Sham and his family are Christians, but he felt God telling them to open his home to them. When they were there, Al-Sham would invite them to sit and speak with him about God. He asked, “If you were to stand before God, and He asked you, ‘Why should I let you into my Heaven?’ what would you say?” Well, they replied that they didn’t know but hoped that the good things they did would be enough. Al-Sham then shared with them about God’s love through sending His Son, Jesus, to die in our place for our sins. And all who put their trust Him alone receive the free gift of eternal life. He asked if they wanted this, and the whole family said yes and prayed with him! For resources to help you share the Gospel, too, visit our website at www.sharelife.today. A Lifelong Evangelist
Wednesday Jun 26, 2024
Wednesday Jun 26, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This past year in Russia, we held a children’s evangelism discipleship training at a local church. And even before the training, a little boy named Arseniy shared about Christ with his family. He asked them if he could go to the training event. They agreed, and there, he learned even more about how to clearly share the Gospel and caught fire to tell others about it. After he completed the training, he told us that he wanted to tell all the boys in his neighborhood the Good News of the Gospel. And his father, Sergey, pledged to help him! Arseniy wants to share as he plays sports with his neighbors in the yard. Now, I can’t help but wonder how God will use the rest of Arseniy’s life to spread the hope of the Gospel. I praise God for the young evangelists and disciple-makers being raised up to be the next leaders in the Church. Discipled and Discipling
Tuesday Jun 25, 2024
Tuesday Jun 25, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In the church, we have a very clear and urgent calling: to go and make disciples. In Kazakhstan last year, a young man named Anuarbek went to a children’s evangelism discipleship training. And he told us, “Before going, I thought and prayed for a long time...I don't speak Russian well; I speak Kazakh. However, I am VERY grateful to GOD for the fact that now I know how to bring the Gospel to children in our native country. There are so many people in Kazakhstan, like me, who speak our mother tongue! And I can now help them understand the Word of God!! Our teacher, Maya, taught us so clearly, treated us with love and care, and explained if there was anything unclear. Glory to You, Lord, for the fact that I caught fire with renewed vigor and will be even stronger and keep serving!” Maya took up the call to disciple, and now Anuarbek has caught the vision to do the same. Well, let’s follow that too! For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

The Most Dangerous Region
Monday Jun 24, 2024
Monday Jun 24, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This summer, we’re hearing stories from across the globe, and this week, we’re spotlighting what God is doing in Eurasia. This large region may be the hardest and most difficult place to be a Christian. And yet, the Gospel is going forth. Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and Russia are just a few of the countries in this region. It spans eleven time zones and is made up of fourteen countries of different cultures, religions, and social standards of life. And even in this difficult area, we praise God for the three thousand eight hundred Christians who have learned how to share their faith and the 250,000 people who have put their trust in Jesus last year alone. Let's remember to pray for our brothers- and sisters-in-Christ in Eurasia who are telling others about the Good News of Jesus despite the dangers. And may we be encouraged that we too can step out in faith and share the Gospel. For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

No One Is Too Far Gone

Friday Jun 21, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Have you ever known someone who seemed so far from wanting a relationship with Jesus? Maybe that was you! At one time, that was me. But when we share the Gospel, we’re participating in the work of the Holy Spirit, and His will and heart is to draw people to Himself—even the ones who seem hardhearted and far from Him. Yuen Woh from Malaysia saw this firsthand. He was introduced by his friend to a very prominent and arrogant businessman who wasn’t interested in God. Well eventually, the man was admitted to the hospital for a medical condition. Yuen Woh went to visit him and found him hurting and questioning a lot of things. Very clearly, Yuen Woh saw God’s hand moving in his life. After he was discharged, Yuen Woh met him often and eventually had the chance to share the Gospel. And the man responded by accepting Jesus as his Savior! Let’s be about the Father’s business by sharing the Gospel with others. For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

Pastor Tomo’s Hope
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Have you ever felt hopeless? Sometimes in the darkest times, it can be hard to imagine things ever getting better. This can definitely be said of Tomo from Japan. He grew up with a very abusive father, who had a huge, negative impact on his family and caused both him and his mother to fall into deep depression. Tomo says that he felt little hope and no desire to become an adult. However, his sister and mother were invited to a local church, and both they and his younger brother quickly joined and accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Tomo hesitated and stubbornly stayed away. But God brought men and women from the church into his life to meet him in his darkest times, and Tomo experienced God drawing him to Jesus. He accepted Christ as his Savior and today is a pastor in Japan who shares the hope of Jesus with the Japanese.
