A King Who Serves
Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What do you think of when you hear the word servant? We read in John 13 at the Last Supper that Jesus took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Imagine...the King of kings takes the lowest position to wash the disciple's, well...feet. It says that Jesus FINISHED. This means he washed all their feet—the feet that would soon abandon him—even the feet he KNEW would soon rush to betray him. The God of the universe kneeling low, towel in hand, washing the dirty feet of sinful men. At the end of the passage Jesus says, "Slaves are not greater than their master, nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message." You see, we ARE His messengers, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. And as we go out let's remember we are not GREATER than the one who GAVE us the message. Let's follow Jesus, our servant King. The Hypostatic Union
Tuesday Dec 05, 2023
Tuesday Dec 05, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Something I have been pondering lately is the matchless, never-ending, wonderful love of God. As we celebrate this season of Jesus' birth, I’m reminded that the God who created the universe—and us!—gave up His glorious throne to step into this world as a man. Now don't get me wrong—Jesus is God. He’s always been one hundred percent so. At the same time, He came to earth, born as a baby… He is also one hundred percent man. This is known as the hypostatic union. And when He was born, His glory was veiled. It must have been quite difficult for Him to humbly take on flesh, but Jesus did it out of His great love for us, and His desire for God’s glory. He chose the road to the cross because He knew His perfect life must be the sacrifice for our imperfect ones. He came to live beside us and share how we can have eternal life. Humble Beginnings
Monday Dec 04, 2023
Monday Dec 04, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
On one starry night, long ago, a baby was born in a manger. The angels in the Bible describe this infant to the cowering shepherds as their "Savior... Christ the Lord!" Now, I imagine these Jewish men did not expect the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords—their Messiah!—to come as a baby. But when they went to see Jesus, lying in a manger, the Word of God says that right after they met Him, they went and told everyone what they had seen. And that’s precisely what should happen when you meet our humble Savior, who came to rescue us from our sins. You worship Him, and then go tell others about Him. So let's share the Gospel of hope that Jesus came for us. We have a resource to help you share with others about Jesus this season. You can find our Christmas Gospel sharing program, The Christ of Christmas, and resources to help you share the Gospel by visiting our website at www.sharelife.today. That’s www.sharelife.today.

Friday Dec 01, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you remember the story Jesus told of the Good Samaritan? He told this parable to emphasize that anyone can be your neighbor. It's your job to show the love of God to anyone you meet! So who is your neighbor? Who is in your community? You may be thinking that you're not very involved in your community, but where are you connected? Do you have a gym you go to daily? A book club? Perhaps a coffee shop that you frequent? Well, those people at the gym, in your club and at your coffee shop all need to know about God’s amazing gift of salvation! It’s your job to tell them! What can you do to better represent Him and share the Gospel with those around you? Ask God to open your eyes to the community He has placed around you and ask for opportunities to share with them the love of Jesus Christ! He’ll use you in your sphere of influence. Reaching Our Neighbors For Christ
Thursday Nov 30, 2023
Thursday Nov 30, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Are you hesitant to share the Gospel with your neighbors? You know, one day, as my wife and I were out on a walk, a boy who lived next door joined us and told us his mother had moved out earlier that day. Well, it broke my heart. When I saw his father on their porch, I worked up the courage to walk up and tell Bill how sorry I was to hear this. And then I shared that Jesus is the most important thing to me, He had changed my life, giving me peace and comfort during difficult times. Well, Bill looked at me and said, “…you’re a liar.” He said, “You’re my friend, and you’ve lived next to me for five years. You’ve never told me about Jesus!" Well, you know, I had to apologize to Bill for not sharing the Good News sooner. And soon, Bill gave his heart to Jesus. His wife did, too; and they are happily married today. You know, we can make a difference, by telling our communities about the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Maybe you don’t know how? Well for resources, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Hospitality and the Gospel
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Are you one of those people who get excited to host over the holidays? Does that fill your heart with joy? If I can be honest, I am not naturally one of those people. But you know what? It is an incredible gift that God calls us—both introverts and extroverts—to be hospitable to others by making time for them. It's through our lives that the people closest to us can see Jesus; and often times, it gives us opportunities to share the greatest gift of all—the Good News of the Gospel. So how do we begin? Simply, start with people you know. Invite a few friends to a dinner party, a co-worker for a cup of coffee, or some neighbors to join you for a Bible study in your home. Be open and real. Share your story, and listen to theirs. Allow them to ask questions. Be honest if you don’t know the answers, but promise to follow up later. Share the Gospel in a simple, easy-to-understand manner. Invite Them In
Tuesday Nov 28, 2023
Tuesday Nov 28, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Did you know that the disciples often gathered in their homes, interacting with those who didn’t know Christ? The Bible says in Acts two that “every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." People were coming to know Christ every single day. Isn’t that amazing? But how did that happen? Unbelievers heard the Gospel and saw it in action. It’s that simple. Hospitality is not something that we do if we have extra time – it’s what we’re called to do if we’re called Christians. Our homes don’t have to be perfect, and we don’t have to be flawless. But when others enter our homes and lives, they see first-hand how the Gospel affects us, which gives us an opportunity to share it with them. To learn more about how you can do just that, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Making Time
Monday Nov 27, 2023
Monday Nov 27, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The holidays are a wonderful time for families to remember the many blessings in our lives. We invite family and friends into our homes for a special meal. We create a warm and welcoming environment and openly share what we are thankful for. It is also a wonderful time to share what Christ personally has done for us. But we can also make time in our lives to invite others to join us throughout the year as a way to share the Gospel. Each of us have a network of relationships within our families, our jobs, our neighbors, our schools, and yes even our social networks that create opportunities to begin spiritual conversations. God desires to reach into the lives of those who are close to us so that they too may be brought into His forever family. So how do you begin? Invite a colleague out for a cup of coffee or video chat a family member or friend. Ask them about their life and share how Christ has changed yours through the Gospel. For more information, visit www.sharelife.today.

Thankful Every Day
Friday Nov 24, 2023
Friday Nov 24, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
So Thanksgiving is now over, and we move on to a new season...but did you know that our gratitude should continue? You can know from even a simple search online how being thankful each day can benefit us both mentally and physically. But that's not what I'm talking about. As Christians, we're thankful each and every day because God doesn’t change. Whether it's Thanksgiving where we're focused on being grateful for how He has provided for us or the week after where we go back to our "normal" way of life, we should be grateful. Because you know what? God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow—and His love for us continues each new day. And we can share our gratitude with others by telling them what Jesus has done for them on the cross! So let's make it a priority to be thankful each and every day. Family Tradition
Thursday Nov 23, 2023
Thursday Nov 23, 2023
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What kind of traditions do you have? Maybe you always make egg salad for family reunions, or play football on Thanksgiving. Maybe you grew up going to church every Sunday like Lara. In fact, it wasn't only Sunday morning church, it was Sunday evening, Wednesday night, really, anytime the doors were open. As a result, she grew up knowing about Jesus and was your traditional good, 'Christian kid.' If you asked her about her faith, she would tell you that her mother told her that she led Lara in a prayer of salvation at only five years old. But one day, Lara realized that wasn't going to be good enough. At church one night, her youth pastor explained that salvation is a personal decision. He said that your parents won't stand with you before God. It will only be you and God. Right then, she made the decision to put her faith in Christ, not her mother's words! Don't rely on Christian tradition to take you to Heaven, trust Jesus alone. Visit www.sharelife.today.
