Have A Plan

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Isn't that the truth? And as we seek to grow in the area of Bible reading, it's important to have a good plan. The reason we plan is because it's important as children of God to, over time, gain a thorough knowledge of the contents of all of Scripture. The more familiar you are with its contents; the more able you are to appreciate what God is doing and what He’s saying to us. You can find published plans on many Bible apps, or even online, that will take you through the whole Bible in a year or more. Whatever your plan, make sure to stick to it. If for some reason, your reading lapses for a while, don’t give up—find where you left off and start again. Start creating this important habit in your life and watch your faith grow! Kingdom Students

We are learners from the moment we’re born until the day we die. We are instructed, shaped, and conditioned by processes that we may hardly notice. We learn attitudes, outlooks, values, and understandings of our world, of ourselves, and of others from a myriad of sources—such as parents, peers, friends, significant others, communities, and culture. They all have a part in shaping us. Now, not all that we learn from these sources will bear the stamp of the Kingdom of God. And that’s why God’s Word is so important to us as new creations in Christ. The Word of God is about life in another Kingdom. And learning to live as people who belong to the Kingdom of God in a broken world is a constant challenge. We need the God’s Word to "be transformed by the renewing of [our] mind[s]," as Paul tells us in Romans. God Speaks

The Bible is the most widely distributed book—and also the least read. There are millions of professing believers who have not yet discovered the joy and spiritual benefits of digging deeply into the Word of God. It is an inexhaustible treasure trove of wisdom. From the opening chapters of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation, the God of the Bible is the God who speaks. And He uses His Word as a primary means to do so in our lives. So, if we are not seeking to hear God's voice through reading the Bible, we are missing out on some major growth in our Christian walk. Today is the day to begin growing in this area! Let's open God's Word and listen to what He has to say. And as we grow, let's always be mindful to share with others what God is doing in our lives. A New Purpose

This New Year’s Eve, we will all wait with bated breath to welcome in the new year at midnight. And for most people, this is a special time… a restart, a refresh, a reset. And it's a time when we can think deeply of our purpose for the next year. So let me ask you one of the most important questions that I’ve ever heard...What is the purpose of your life? Did you know that God calls us to examine ourselves; and then, He gives us specific things in His Word that we’re created us for! The last commandment that Christ gave was that we were to go and make disciples to all nations. He also challenges us to be salt and light—salt in that we keep the culture from utterly corrupting; light in that we bring into the darkness of men’s mind the light of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. To The Next Level

As we are making our goals for the next year, I'd like to encourage you today to pick a resolution that joins in on what Christ is already doing in the world aroundyou. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, "Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." Find opportunities to reach out into your community. If you are not confident in how to share your faith, learn more on how you can be ready and confident to share. Be praying and looking for opportunities to tell others about what Jesus has done in your life. And then share His love for them! God’s Guidance

“Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah, Pilgrim through a barren land.” The late Dr. D. James Kennedy would say these very words every morning before his feet hit the ground. In this season where we're making resolutions and goals for the next year, we need to ask ourselves...are we relying on the guidance of God?
There are many snares, temptations, and difficulties out there. We desperately need Him and His direction! The Bible says in Proverbs, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." God keeps His promises! All He asks from us is that we trust Him. So before you write down your newest resolution, let me encourage you—pray for God's leading in your life. He will begin to give you opportunities to serve and love Him like never before—and through those, you can have opportunities to trust Him andshare the Gospel with others. New Year’s Goal

What's your goal this coming new year? The number one New Year’s resolution people typically make is focused on physical health. But how is your spiritual health? Just like exercise helps your overall health as we become more fit, we need discipline in our walk with God to become spiritually healthy. God doesn't want us to remain stagnant in our relationship with Him. He wants us to grow! And one of the ways we can do this is by centering our lives around Him. Just like we make time for people who are most important to us—to talk with them, hear their hearts, encourage them and share our thoughts with them—God wants the same. To deepen our connection and relationship with Him, we need to speak to Him! And we can do this through prayer. Let me encourage you today to set aside time to pray, and then begin to share your heart with your Creator and Friend. He is listening and will respond—through His Word orother means! A Fresh Start

Around this time of year, we have been drawing closer to Jesus through celebrating Him coming to earth as an infant, living a perfect life, and dying on the cross for our sins. What an amazing sacrifice and great love our Savior has for us! Perhaps, you have found yourself making the decision to accept what He has done for you and have placed your trust in Him. You have made a great decision! Now you can get to know Jesus as your Best Friend. He told us in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." God wants your life to be fulfilling and rewarding. He's promised to help you! But where can you start? Well, just as your body needs food, your spirit needs nourishment. You feed your spirit by reading the Bible. God speaks to you and shows you how to live through His Word. So start by creating a habit of reading the Bible every single day!
