Death, Where Is Your Sting?
Friday Oct 18, 2024
Friday Oct 18, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
One of the hardest things that we can ever face in life is a close encounter with death. Whether it is ourself or the loss of a loved one, these are life-changing and difficult times. But God can use these very moments to draw us or others to Himself. This is exactly what happened in Barry's life. In college, he met a girl that he admired very much and always wished to meet. Well one day, she was killed in a car accident. Barry was crushed and went to the school's chapel to pray. In that moment, he knew there was something missing in his life but didn't know what it was. Then soon after, he heard the good news of the Gospel, and he put His trust in Christ. Now, he knows for certain that he has eternal life. And that’s changed everything. Sharing a testimony like this is a great way start a Gospel conversation with family and friends about the eternal hope found in Jesus. Jesus Knows Grief
Thursday Oct 17, 2024
Thursday Oct 17, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In the famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus shared, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Jesus, as God in the flesh, knew grief as a man. He experienced loved ones die. He faced hunger and physical need. He was rejected and betrayed by the people He was close with. He felt loneliness and sadness. He was beaten and tortured in the cruelest ways before being killed on a cross for the very people He ministered to and came to save. And He did it for us, that all who put their trust in Him and what He did might be forgiven. The God of the universe came as a man and walked in our shoes. And He promises that in our deepest hurt and grief, that if we’ll turn to Him, we will be comforted. I know I want everyone to know the peace and the comfort found in knowing Jesus. So let’s share the hope of the Gospel in times of tragedy and grief. For resources, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

Peace in the Storm
Wednesday Oct 16, 2024
Wednesday Oct 16, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Sometimes, when we face tragedy, we feel that we’ve been abandoned. These past few weeks, we at EE have faced devastation alongside thousands of others in Asheville, North Carolina. Franklin Graham, the president of Samaritan’s Purse, said, “No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you.” You see, God cares about us. He so loved the world that He sent His Son Jesus to the cross to combat the world’s poison—also known as sin. And the Bible tells us that when we place our trust in Jesus alone as our Savior, He is not only our Deliverer but also our Friend. “I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord...” There’s a peace that He gives us even in the biggest storms of our lives because He is with us. And we have the opportunity to share that peace with others. Not sure how? Visit our website at www.sharelife.today. That’s www.sharelife.today.

True Tragedy
Tuesday Oct 15, 2024
Tuesday Oct 15, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
During the early days of EE, a young man named Jack and two of his friends were evangelism trainers at Coral Ridge who were passionate about discipling other Christians in the church. For Jack’s birthday one year, his wife Lois gifted him something that he really wanted, which was to take a hot air balloon ride with his friends. On a nice Saturday morning, they took off, but the winds blew wrong causing the pilot to lose control. The balloon crashed into power lines and the balloon burst into flames. It shot in the air with the men one thousand feet, and Lois watched Jack and his friends fall from the sky. They called it a tragedy. The next morning, Dr. Kennedy stepped into the pulpit and said, “It’s a tragedy—young men living their lives fully for God—to die young? The tragedy is when a man lives to an old age and never does anything for God.” Make your life count. For resources to help you get started, visit www.sharelife.today.

Ready for the Storm
Monday Oct 14, 2024
Monday Oct 14, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Tragedies happen...the question is, are we ready? Evangelism Explosion International is headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina, and we recently have experienced a terrible hurricane. Our community has suffered and lost so much, including many precious lives. We’ve lost power, water, roads, and cell connection. And we still have people in our community being rescued as we sort through the wreckage. It was truly a devastating storm. But what we have been seeing through it is the basic humanity of people. We naturally want community and hope when we face devastating circumstances. Especially in times like these, there’s an openness to pray with and for others, weep with them, and share the hope that we have in Jesus. As we come together and help each other—whether we are near or far from a tragedy, let’s also be ready to step in and be there for our community and share the hope of the Gospel. Today is the Day of Salvation
Friday Oct 11, 2024
Friday Oct 11, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Seasoned parents and grandparents often tell new ones, "Don't blink and enjoy every moment with the kids. Because before you know it, they’re going to be grown up and time will have passed." And I would say the same to you in regards to sharing your faith. Today is the day to tell another person about Jesus! If we wait, we’ll miss the opportunity to follow Jesus' last command. He told us in John 4 that the harvest is now. There are people all around the world waiting for someone to share the Good News of the Gospel with them. The Bible says very clearly, “Today is the day of salvation!” And I don’t know about you; but when I face my Savior and Lord one day, I want to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share in your master’s happiness!” For more tips and resources on how you can be part of sharing your faith, visit www.sharelife.today.

Divine Appointments
Thursday Oct 10, 2024
Thursday Oct 10, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Holy Spirit is softening and drawing hearts to Himself each and every day. And we can be a part of His work. One of the very best ways to join the Holy Spirit is by praying for what we like to call “Divine Appointments.” I can’t tell you how many times He has led me a person who was waiting for someone to share the Gospel with them. In Arizona, I met a twenty-one-year-old named Raymond who was waiting at a bus stop. He told me that he was in a recovery program that talked about God but hadn’t shared much about Him. Raymond was sitting there wondering how he could find out more when we walked up. With tears in his eyes, he accepted Christ after hearing the Gospel and said, “Thank you! This is going to change my life.” So I encourage you to start praying for opportunities to share your faith and watch God do amazing things. For more on sharing the Gospel, visit www.sharelife.today. Fulfilling the Great Commission
Wednesday Oct 09, 2024
Wednesday Oct 09, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Did you know that there are Christians all around the world that have been working tirelessly to fulfill Jesus’ last command? He gave us the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” And there are many that have taken this very seriously. In fact, there are leaders that are saying the Gospel will be finished going forth and the Great Commission will be fulfilled as early as 2033. A few are saying it could be even earlier than that! And if this is true, the question we must ask ourselves is what role will we play? Let me encourage you: don’t wait to start sharing your faith. Don’t wait bringing hope to others who are hopeless, desperate, and lost. The time to share is now. Learn more about sharing the Gospel at www.sharelife.today.

Give Us Your Eyes
Tuesday Oct 08, 2024
Tuesday Oct 08, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Do you want to really be stretched in your faith? Ask God to give you His eyes for other people. And He’ll answer that prayer and begin to break your heart for what breaks His. And there is nothing dearer to Christ's heart than people. He created each of us uniquely and for a purpose! Once you start looking, you’ll begin to see this for yourself and value others highly. You'll desire for them to have the peace, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ; and then you'll make the effort to start spiritual conversations and look for opportunities to share the Gospel with them. So take the challenge this week! Think of each person you pass by as a neighbor. If you make a conscious effort to really see people as they pass by, you will begin to really care and you will want to witness more! Not sure where to start? We would love to help. We have a lot of resources to get you started! Visit our website at ww.sharelife.today.

Know the Season
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
How does a farmer know to harvest? Well, it boils down to a farmer looking at their field and seeing that the crop is ripe! You know, the Bible uses the very same analogy for a spiritual harvest of souls ready to accept the free gift of eternal life. Jesus told the disciples, “I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” It would be detrimental to a farm if the workers missed out on collecting the crop. There may be bankruptcy or even people who starve from it. But for the us, it would be even more harmful. Not to God—because He can make the rocks cry out His glory. But how unfortunate it would be for us to miss out on the blessing of being a part of the harvest. We have the purpose and the privilege to be Jesus’ hands and feet here on earth, and that includes bringing the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
