Respond with Jesus
Friday Feb 07, 2025
Friday Feb 07, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
With a few simple tools, we can speak the Gospel with confidence and develop a passion for those who do not yet know Him. One of today's tips for sharing our faith with confidence is to address questions. Even though difficult questions may come up in a spiritual conversation, we don’t need to fear them. Answer them as quickly as possible, then return the focus to the Gospel. Now, if you don’t know an answer, be honest; let them know you will find out. Remember to always return with an answer if you promise to do so. Another tip is to be ready to take the next step with others. Because when you share your faith, people will respond. Keep it simple. The Gospel is not complicated! Explain that what they must do is place their trust in Jesus alone. When you move in faith, God will provide both divine opportunities and the confidence that you need to tell others the Good News. So take a step of faith this week and share with someone! Let’s Go
Thursday Feb 06, 2025
Thursday Feb 06, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Why do we share the Gospel? Well, the simplest answer is because Jesus told us to. After He showed Himself to the disciples and many others after His resurrection, He left them with the Great Commission. "Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Christ gave every follower of His a purpose before ascending to heaven—He called us to go and tell people the Good News of the Gospel. And through people coming to know Him, Christians are formed and begin to grow in their faith. What a privilege and calling we have! And the best news is we don't have to do it alone. Jesus Himself will be with us always. So the question is...are we going and sharing? If not, find resources to help you share the Gospel at sharelife.today. That’s sharelife.today.

Working With The Holy Spirit
Wednesday Feb 05, 2025
Wednesday Feb 05, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Did you know that the Holy Spirit is working? Everywhere, all the time, drawing people all over the world to Jesus. And the same Holy Spirit lives inside each one of us. So, when it comes to sharing our faith we don't have to be afraid. Witnessing under the direction of the Holy Spirit is just seeing where God is already working and then joining Him in it. When it comes to witnessing our part is simply taking a step of obedience and sharing our faith. Then the Holy Spirit’s part is drawing men and women to Jesus. Wow, how easy and exciting is that? In John 5:19, Jesus said "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son of Man can do nothing of His own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing," so our job as a witness is to simply follow Jesus' example, to only do what the Father is already doing. So watch, and see where God is already at work, and then join him there. To learn more about sharing the Gospel, visit sharelife.today.

Sharing With Confidence
Tuesday Feb 04, 2025
Tuesday Feb 04, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Did you know that God uses ordinary people like you and me to point others to Christ? Opportunities to share our faith are literally all around us. With a few simple tools, we can speak the Gospel with confidence and develop passion for those who do not yet know Him. One of the keys to sharing your faith with confidence is simply to being yourself. Keep the conversation friendly. Ask questions about their spiritual life and what gives them the most meaning. Take time to listen and understand where they are struggling. And share your story about how you came to know Jesus and what difference it’s made it your life. People love stories, and your story is interesting because it is unique. This will also help them understand the transforming power of the Gospel in your life and how a relationship with Jesus can impact them too. All these ways help us share our faith boldly and lovingly with others. To learn more about sharing the Gospel with confidence, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Our Biggest Fear
Monday Feb 03, 2025
Monday Feb 03, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What's your biggest fear? For some, it's spiders, or the dark, or falling from a high place. But for Christians, there is a great fear in sharing our faith. For some, they just don’t know where to start. Others are afraid of facing difficult questions or simply rejection. You know, we’ve all been there; and unfortunately, many believers never move beyond that fear. The problem is, Satan knows this and often uses fear to keep us from sharing the Gospel. But let me encourage you to take that step in faith. Ask God to give you courage. Pray that He will open a door for you to share His love with another person. God loves to prepare people’s hearts to hear the Good News, and He is waiting for people willing to step out in faith and speak for Him. God uses ordinary people just like you and me to point others to Christ. So let's put our fears aside, and let’s learn how to share! For resources on how you can do that, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Prioritizing Fellowship
Friday Jan 31, 2025
Friday Jan 31, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Charles Spurgeon said, "Some Christians try to go to heaven alone, in solitude. But, you know, believers are not compared to bears or lions or other animals that wander alone. Those who belong to Christ are sheep in this respect, that they love to get together. Sheep go in flocks, and so do God's people." We will not be able to grow in fellowship until we first develop our minds and spirits to be committed to fellowship. In Philippians 2:3, Paul tells us, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself." And this is exactly how we should think concerning other believers. We need to cultivate thoughts of valuing them. And we need to prioritize edifying and encouraging them. And Jesus is our prime example of this—He met and associated with all kinds of people, and loved and grew them through meeting together. For more on fellowship, visit sharelife.today.

The Local Church
Thursday Jan 30, 2025
Thursday Jan 30, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Corrie Ten Boom said, "When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles." Meeting together with your local church—which is an extension of the church worldwide—is so very important. Each local church is unique in that it’s both the process and product of the experience of Christian fellowship. That is, the local church is both the place where fellowship is developed and expressed and an example of our Christian fellowship to the world. And there are many ways our fellowship in Christ can be nurtured through the local church. In Acts chapter two, we see an example of believers meeting together to break "bread in their homes," and they "ate together with glad and sincere hearts." What a picture to their community of how Jesus brings us, His children, together in unity. And through that example, they told others about Jesus; and Acts two records that there were people coming to Jesus every day. For more on fellowship, visit sharelife.today.

Giving What We’re Given
Wednesday Jan 29, 2025
Wednesday Jan 29, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Bible teaches us that everything we possess has come to us because God gave it to us. 1 Corinthians 4:7 says, “What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” Our responsibility with our possessions is to use them as God’s stewards — using them, that is, as He would Himself. In Acts chapter two, we see a picture of the early church selling their property and possessions to make sure that any need was met. They had open hands and hearts with all that they owned. This is an expression of Christian fellowship in the church: sharing what we possess. And as we do, we receive opportunities to point others to the One who gave us everything in the first place—our Savior, Jesus Christ. What are some ways you can give what God has given you? The Body of Christ
Tuesday Jan 28, 2025
Tuesday Jan 28, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In first Corinthians, Paul uses the imagery of a body to paint the picture of what the church should look like. If the entire body of Christ was made up of just ears, what could we do? Well, we would be really, really good at listening, but not much else. We couldn't reach out with a hand to help or go anywhere with our legs. And if we didn't have ankles and wrists and shoulders, it wouldn't much matter that we had feet and arms…! And anyone who has ever broken their big toe knows it's almost impossible to walk...just by missing one toe! Now, it may seem like I'm being silly, but there are important truths to this. You see, we need each other. And we need the church to serve together. And every believer is important to the work Jesus has given us. With this in mind, let's spur each other on to work together so the world will know that we have a Savior in Jesus! For more, visit our website at sharelife.today. That’s sharelife.today.

Unity in Christ
Monday Jan 27, 2025
Monday Jan 27, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Charles Spurgeon said, "Satan always hates Christian fellowship; it is his policy to keep Christians apart. Anything which can divide saints from one another he delights in.” You know, our fellowship together results from our belonging individually to God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. His Spirit has come to live in us, and He provides for us a strong unity with one another. Ephesians 4:3 says, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Let's not buy into the lie that meeting together as believers is not important. Instead, let's prioritize coming together and edifying one another in the works that God has given us to do as the church. That’s accountability! And fellowship will grow us individually and collectively. And as we spur each other on, we’ll be faithful to tell others about our wonderful Savior. For more, visit sharelife.today.
