What’s more valuable than worldly success? In Matthew 16:26, Jesus asked, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet [lose] their soul?” Well, we know, it’s Jesus that is the greatest treasure a person can attain. And that’s the heart behind what’s happening in Vienna, Virginia, where a local church trained 22 new believers to confidently share the Gospel. During one recent night where they went out to the community to share their faith, one of the teams met a man named Insu. At first, Insu said he hoped God would forgive him—but he wasn’t sure of his eternal future. That night, the team gently walked him through the Gospel, and Insu prayed to receive the gift of eternal life. By the end, he answered both diagnostic questions with joy and clarity! God Will Lead You

Have you ever felt unprepared to share your faith—but knew the Holy Spirit was prompting you to speak up anyway? That’s exactly what happened to one of our new trainees in Jamaica. After just the first day of evangelism training, she went home and began talking with a colleague. All she had learned so far were the two diagnostic questions and the hand illustration. But even with just that, she felt God nudging her to share. She asked the questions—and to her surprise, her colleague said “Yes,” she wanted to receive the free gift of eternal life! Stunned, the trainee prayed for her and with her. She didn’t yet know all she could with sharing her faith, but she knew enough. And God used her. She could share the Gospel and saw her coworker’s life change for eternity. Her story is a powerful reminder: it’s not about having all the answers—it’s about saying yes when God leads. Darren’s Confidence

Sometimes, the most powerful Gospel conversations happen in the most unexpected places. In Trinidad, during an evangelism discipleship training, Darren and his trainer approached a group of men hanging out, drinking, and listening to loud music. But off to the side, one man named Wallen sat alone. His car was being repaired—but God had something greater in store. They struck up a conversation and asked him, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how fulfilling is your life?” Wallen said “six” and explained he felt something was missing—he was thirsty to be closer to God. That opened the door to the Gospel. By the end, Wallen put his trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Elizabeth’s Fear

Before receiving evangelism training, Elizabeth had the desire to share the Gospel—but fear often held her back. Like many of us, she second-guessed approaching strangers, unsure how to begin. But then she went through our evangelism discipleship training—and everything changed. She learned a simple, effective way to share the Gospel, built around two key questions. It gave her confidence and clarity. One Saturday morning, she prayed for “ripe fruit” and followed the Holy Spirit’s prompting to speak to a young man. He not only accepted Christ—he came to church that same day and brought his brother, who also gave his life to the Lord! Elizabeth’s confidence grew because she was equipped. Openness in America

Over the course of the summer, we will be sharing with you some stories, thoughts, and encouragements from our staff on each continent around the globe. This week, we will be sharing testimonies from North America! I have heard many wary Christians doubt whether anyone is open to the Gospel here in the United States. We have seen Christians at our Equip America events start the day saying, "I'm scared...I don't want to go out." But then at the end, they will be saying something like, "We need to do this every day! Our whole church needs to be a part of this!" Because the truth is, sharing our faith is not as scary as we think it will be, and more people are open to hearing it than we imagine. In fact, we did a study with Lifeway Research that found that sixty-six percent of Americans are open to having a conversation about faith. So let's get started. Samuel’s Prayer

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
When we learn to share the Gospel, we become part of something eternal. This past September, Samuel walked into our ministry’s offices in Uganda. Homeless, jobless, and abandoned, he’d spent nights on the streets of Kampala, desperate and hopeless. He told us, “I thought about ending my life so many times…I just needed someone to talk to.” And that’s when he met Francis. Francis listened, and he shared the Gospel. In just 25 minutes, Samuel surrendered his life to Jesus, tears streaming down his face. He received a Bible, prayer, and a bus ticket home. And just four days later—Samuel got a job offer just out of the blue! Today, he’s working and growing in his faith at a local church in his hometown. Follow God’s Leading

When we ask God for opportunities to share the Gospel, He answers—and sometimes in ways we don’t expect. One evening this past September, a young man in Kenya who learned to share his faith felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to speak with two young men from a nearby village. He had recently been to one of our evangelism trainings, and he learned exactly how to share the Gospel clearly and confidently. And as they sat together, he asked them two diagnostic questions, and one said that he was saved, while the other one trusted in good works. But after hearing the Gospel, both realized they needed Jesus. And that night, they prayed to receive Him as Lord and Savior! When we ask for opportunities to share the Gospel, God will answer us. So, I’d like to challenge you today...ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to someone who needs the Gospel, and then follow His leading! Not sure where to start? Jesus Saves

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. Last August, in Kasungu, Malawi, a young girl was moments away from taking her own life. But God had another plan. Evance, who had learned to share his faith, heard about her situation and went to her home. While others were trying to reason with her, Evance brought something more: the Gospel. He gently asked her two questions: if she knew if she was going to Heaven and what she’d say to God if He asked her why He should let her into Heaven. She broke down in tears. Right then, Evance shared the hope found in Jesus—and she received Christ as her Savior and Lord. And that day, her life forever changed. She gained hope and joy that she didn’t have before. Daniel’s Prayer

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Why is it so important to share the Gospel? Well, because right now, someone is praying for the truth. Daniel was one of them. He cried out to God, “Reveal Yourself to me—for my salvation and for my personal growth.” And that very same day, Japhet—one of our EE trainees from Nairobi, who had just learned to share the Gospel—felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to speak to a young man standing alone at the Heal Africa Hospital. That man was Daniel. And as they spoke, Japhet shared the Gospel. And Daniel, though active in his church, realized he didn’t have the assurance of eternal life. And right there in the road, he gave his life to Christ—and with tears in his eyes said, “God answered my prayer through you.” You know, people are searching for hope. And God is calling us to go. A Dangerous Christian

This summer, we’re spotlighting what God is doing around the world; and this week, we’re hearing stories from Africa. And let me tell you...there are exciting things happening on this continent. Just this past year through evangelism training events, we saw over twenty million people make professions of faith in Jesus. And that happened through over one million believers learning how to share their faith—both adults and children. These Christians were in churches, schools, and even prisons; and they began to share the Gospel and reach their communities for Jesus. You want to make a Christian dangerous to the enemy? Well, teach them how to share the Good News! You know, the Bible says that the gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ's church.
