Carols and the Gospel
Thursday Dec 11, 2025
Thursday Dec 11, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
"Hark! the herald angels sing, 'Glory to the newborn King: peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!" Charles Wesley penned these beautiful words to music that Mendelssohn wrote; and even now — hundreds of years later — you can still hear this song in the mall as you shop for Christmas. Did you know that many of our classic Christmas songs declare the Good News of what Jesus has done? God has given us a way to be reconciled with Him through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We celebrate this season Jesus coming as a baby born to a virgin. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross for our sins. The Bible says in Isaiah that "He was pierced for our transgressions/crushed for our iniquities." He brought peace to a people drowning in their wrongdoings and separated from God. Jesus offers the free gift of eternal life to all who would believe and place their trust in Him. For more, visit sharelife.today.

Ebenezer Scrooge

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
"The cold within him froze his features, nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek, stiffened his gait..." Those are the words Charles Dickens used to describe his well-known character, Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge was known for despising all things about Christmas, especially helping the poor and the needy. He would shout, "Bah, humbug!" at anything kind and good. When we hear about people like him, you know it's easy for us to say, "Well, I'm not like that, so I guess I'm a pretty good person!" Compared to Scrooge...yes, you may be! But compared to the standard God has set in Matthew 5 where He says, "Be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect"...well, you know we all fall short of that. The truth is, all of us have sinned. But there is good news! Jesus came and took the punishment for us. And for all those who believe in Him, God substitutes Christ’s perfect life for our sin-filled one. Never Failing Hope
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Have you ever put your hope in another person? Well, if that person is trustworthy, it’s fine! But here's the problem with placing your hope in other people: sometimes, they let you down. But I am here to tell you that placing your hope in Jesus will never result in you being let down. Even though He is God, He gave up His heavenly glory to join us here on earth as a baby, which we celebrate at Christmas! Jesus lived an absolutely perfect life and sacrificed Himself on the cross as a substitute for our sins. And because He rose again from the grave, He has the power and authority to offer eternal life as an absolutely free gift to us. And now, our hope for Heaven can be certain because Jesus is faithful! He promised us in Genesis a way of salvation, and He was faithful to do exactly what He said He would do. If you don't have this eternal hope yet, well friend, look to Jesus. You Can Be Certain
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What can you be completely certain about this Christmas-time? Well, you can be sure that the days will get shorter as the time the sun is up decreases. You can be sure that you'll begin to see decorations as companies and communities prepare for the season. And you can be absolutely certain that you cannot get into Heaven because of the good things that you've done. Now, before you write that off as a calloused statement or simply an opinion, consider what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that no one is good, not even one. It also tells us to be perfect, just as your Father in Heaven is perfect. It is a real problem for us if no one is good, yet you’re expected to be perfect. However, this problem is solved by the Person of Jesus Christ who was both God and Man - perfect, just and full of grace. You can be certain that placing your faith in Jesus is enough for eternal life with God. Have you accepted that grace? Find out more at sharelife.today.

He Carries Our Burdens
Friday Dec 05, 2025
Friday Dec 05, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Are you excited for the Christmas season? Or are these days a little harder for you? Many people find that the time leading up to Christmas can be challenging and the joy can be lacking—especially after experiencing a big loss in their life. It may make this season not be so merry and bright. But can I encourage you with something from God's Word? In his prophecy about Christ's coming to earth, Isaiah wrote in chapter nine, "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. [...] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given." This child was none other than Christ the Lord, Who is our Prince of Peace and has promised to carry our burdens. And I myself have experienced this joy and peace that passes all understanding that can only come from Him. And we have the privilege to share this with those that are hurting around us. The Lost Coin
Thursday Dec 04, 2025
Thursday Dec 04, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
"Suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?" This is how Jesus began an important parable in Luke chapter fifteen about a woman who searched for a coin with great care. After she found it, she called her neighbors and friends over to rejoice with her. Did you know that over every sinner who repents and believes there is also rejoicing in Heaven? Just as the angels sang with great joy over Christ's birth, they also celebrate over us making that decision. In this season of Christmas, we celebrate the One who makes this possible. The Bible says, "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” As His children, we have the privilege of being a part of His saving grace! We get to tell others what He’s done. Let me encourage you this Christmas time to step out and share this Good News. For ways to do it, visit sharelife.today.

Don’t Keep Silent
Wednesday Dec 03, 2025
Wednesday Dec 03, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
"...When the shepherds had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them." At just the right time, Jesus came to this earth, humbly and quietly as a child. All of Heaven had been anticipating this moment and like wildfire, the news spread across the country because the shepherds told everyone who would listen about the child. Everyone who heard the news was amazed! Have you ever thought, though, “What if the shepherds had kept quiet?” Well, our world would certainly look different. If they had kept the news of the Messiah coming to earth to themselves, they would have missed out on so much. Now here’s the question for you and me…what if we remain silent? Let’s spread Good News of great joy this Christmastime to all who will hear. And if you need help in getting started, we have resources and tips for you at our website at sharelife.today. That’s sharelife.today.

Choosing Joy
Tuesday Dec 02, 2025
Tuesday Dec 02, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What’s your favorite thing about the Christmas season? Many people love the cheerful music, the sweet treats, and holiday gatherings with family and friends. And whether this year has been a difficult or wonderful one for you, the joy remains the same if you know Jesus. Why is that? Because no matter what this season brings for you, Jesus is the reason you can have great joy! Spend some time over the course of the next week focusing on the joy of the season - on the joy of the Gospel! And do you know what? If you’ll do that, others will see your joy and will want it, too! Choosing joy at all times — especially in a difficult year — can open up many opportunities to share how Jesus has made all the difference in your life for eternity. You can be the one to bring tidings of great joy to them. If you need help learning how to start a Gospel conversation, you can find out how by visiting our website at sharelife.today.

Good News of Great Joy
Monday Dec 01, 2025
Monday Dec 01, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ. Do you remember the angels saying to the shepherds: “I bring you good news of great JOY?!” Well, people need that Good News. While the traditional practice of exchanging gifts is in full swing, remember to share about the greatest gift ever given — eternal life through Jesus Christ. It’s not something that we can earn and it’s certainly not something that we deserve it because we are all sinners and our sin separates us from an all Holy God. But the Good News is that God solved our problem by sending His Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins and purchase a place for us in Heaven. This gift is received by faith. If you haven’t received this gift, don’t let another Christmas go by. And if you’ve already received this gift, share it with someone else. We have resources to help you do that like our program, The Christ of Christmas. Visit our website at sharelife.today.

Thankful Every Day
Friday Nov 28, 2025
Friday Nov 28, 2025
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
So Thanksgiving is now over, and we move on to a new season...but did you know that our gratitude should continue? You can know from even a simple search online how being thankful each day can benefit us both mentally and physically. But that's not what I'm talking about. As Christians, we're thankful each and every day because God doesn’t change. Whether it's Thanksgiving where we're focused on being grateful for how He has provided for us or the week after where we go back to our "normal" way of life, we should be grateful. Because you know what? God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow—and His love for us continues each new day. And we can share our gratitude with others by telling them what Jesus has done for them on the cross! So let's make it a priority to be thankful each and every day.
