God’s Eyes

Do you care about the lost? The truth is for many of us, we don't; or at least not like we should. We would never say it, but our priorities and lives reveal it. We make very little time in our schedules to interact with others, especially those who don't know Jesus. We may even have stopped praying for our lost friends and coworkers entirely! There could be a few reasons...we have gotten far too busy, we have forgotten what it is like to live without the hope of Christ, or we have lost the vision of God's heart for the lost. Well regardless of the reason, this isn't the end. Let's seek forgiveness from Christ for our apathy and push forward—asking God to give us eyes to see people like He does. Give Us Your Eyes

Do you want to really be stretched in your faith? Ask God to give you His eyes for other people. And He’ll answer that prayer and begin to break your heart for what breaks His. And there is nothing dearer to Christ's heart than people. He created each of us uniquely and for a purpose! Once you start looking, you’ll begin to see this for yourself and value others highly. You'll desire for them to have the peace, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ; and then you'll make the effort to start spiritual conversations and look for opportunities to share the Gospel with them. So take the challenge this week! Think of each person you pass by as a neighbor. If you make a conscious effort to really see people as they pass by, you will begin to really care and you will want to witness more! Not sure where to start? We would love to help. Real Sight

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” today, I want to ask the question…what is real sight? Jesus taught Nicodemus in John chapter three that “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” When we place our trust in Jesus and Him alone, He gives us sight to see His kingdom advancing here on earth. And Jesus further told His disciples after His death and resurrection that He was ascending back to the Father and sending the Holy Spirit to guide and to help us. He will lead and assist us as we share our faith, read the Word, and pray to our Savior and Lord. Another incredible gift the Holy Spirit will give us if we ask Him is His heart and eyes to see and love people as God sees and loves them. Let It Shine

Many of us remember singing these words, perhaps as little children in Sunday School: “This little light of mine; I’m gonna let it shine. Hide it under a bushel? No! I’m gonna let it shine.” Those simple lyrics carry a powerful Biblical truth. In Isaiah 60:1, God calls His people to action, saying, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.” That light is Jesus Christ. He stepped into a dark world, took our sin upon Himself on the cross so we could be forgiven and eternal life could be ours. When we place our faith in Him, His light shines in us, not to be hidden, but to be shared. The world around us is filled with people searching for hope, peace, and truth. God calls us not to shine the light of Christ through telling others about Him. Let’s not keep it to ourselves—let’s share the Gospel! A World Without Darkness

The Bible ends with a powerful picture of hope. In Revelation 21:23, we’re told that in the new heaven and new earth, there will be no need for the sun or the moon, because the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. For those who trust in Jesus Christ, this is our future. A perfect place where sin, suffering, and death no longer exist, and where we will live in the presence of God forever. This hope is possible because Jesus stepped into the darkness of our world, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again in victory. Darkness did not win. Jesus did. But until that day, God calls us to live as people of the light that share the hope of the Gospel with others. Let’s tell those around us about Who Jesus is and what He has done for them! Be The Light

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The same God who spoke light into existence is still at work today. Second Corinthians 4:6 tells us that God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” now shines in our hearts through Jesus Christ. That light changes everything. When we trust in Christ, God opens our eyes, forgives our sin, and fills us with hope that lasts beyond this life. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for us turned spiritual darkness into living light. And for all those who place their trust in Jesus, He gives the gift of eternal life. But God never intended us to the Light of the World to ourselves. He shines through us so others can see the truth of the Gospel. Ask God to use your story to point someone to Christ. And then, be ready to share it and the Gospel with them. Rescued From Darkness

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Bible tells us in Colossians 1:13 that God “rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.” That’s not just poetic language. It’s a rescue story. Through Jesus Christ, we are delivered from darkness and brought into the light of God’s kingdom. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and secured our freedom. Darkness no longer has hold over us that have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone. But there are many who don’t yet the hope and forgiveness that Jesus offers. And God calls us to share this Good News with others who need the very Light of life that we have found. Today, thank God for what He has done in your life, and pray for opportunities to tell others about Jesus and what He has done. From Darkness to Light

Many people are searching for direction, unsure which way to go. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus doesn’t just point us to light. He is the light. Through His death on the cross for our sins, He made a way for us to step out of darkness and into new life. Following Christ doesn’t remove every challenge, but it gives us a sure guide and an eternal promise. When we place our trust in Him and Him alone, we can rest securely in this promise from Proverbs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Today, let’s choose to trust and follow Jesus and look for opportunities to share the light of the Gospel with those around us. A Lasting Love

Revelation 12:11 says that we will defeat the enemy by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” That kind of power shouldn't be hidden—your story should be shared boldly! Jesus will use it as you tell of His goodness and love to those around you. This is exactly what’s happening in Sharon's life. Before she had a relationship with Jesus, her existence was dark. She always felt isolated and alone. Sharon looked to friendships to find fulfillment, but nothing ever stuck as she never made any new, long-lasting relationships. But then, she received the free gift of eternal life, and now she knows she is never alone! Sharon feels the peace and love that comes from Jesus living in her heart, and she has found a genuine and lasting community in her church. And she just can't keep it to herself! What Is Love?

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
To begin to love your neighbor as yourself, you need to ask something very important: what love is! The Bible tells us, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." That kind of true love is unconditional, sacrificial, full of grace and forgiveness, and makes an effort to bridge the gap. In Christ's case, His goal was to both show us what true love is as well as to reconcile us to God. He did it by dying a gruesome death on the cross for our sins He didn't deserve it nor needed to do it for Himself, but His great love for us kept him nailed to that cross. He died and rose again, and is now in Heaven offering this free gift of eternal life for all who would believe. So let's follow in our Lord's footsteps.
